1056 (the first year of Jiayou), due to the recommendation and praise of Ouyang Xiu, a literary master, Su Xun became the capital, but failed to seek an official position. In April of the following year, his wife Shicheng died in Meishan, and Su Xun and his son hurried back to Shu. It was not until November of 1058 (the third year of Jiayou) that the court responded to Ouyang Xiu's recommendation and decided to summon Su Xun to Scheeren's hospital for a trial. Su Xun refused to try. 1059 (the fourth year of Jiayou) In June, the imperial court called for another order, and Mei sent a poem entitled "The Old Man sends Su Mingyun in Spring" to persuade him to enter Beijing. In addition, Su Xun reluctantly decided to go to Beijing after the expiration of his second son's funeral. In the same year 10, Su Xun and his son went south to Jiangling along the Minjiang River and the Yangtze River, and then went north to Beijing. Father and son visited the secluded place all the way to win, and wrote 173 poems, which were compiled into Before and After the Southern Expedition respectively. Su Xun's "Journey to the South" is all lost in the popular "Jia", which is one of more than ten poems in the Complete Works of Lao Su in the Song Dynasty. Because Su Xun is very reluctant to go to Beijing this time, the whole poem is depressed and the plot is complicated.
