Many people have to cancel their travel plans since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia. However, after a long period of 10 months, during the Mid-Autumn Festival of the National Day, domestic tourism has ushered in a prosperous peak season. Now, autumn and winter are coming quietly, New Year's Day is approaching, and a new round of winter travel is beginning to recover. Here are five kinds of tourist poster templates for you. Choose your favorite style and start creating ~
1
Retro style
Tourist posters began in the early 20th century. At that time, the railway company will entrust artists to design posters to promote tourist cities, resorts and weekend trips in the same format.
The poster is brightly colored and stands out at the station. Hand-painted illustrations are full of retro flavor and strong narrative, giving people an adventurous, fresh and charming impression.
The tourist posters from 1900 to 1940 were also influenced by different art movements, such as Art Deco and Art Nouveau.

AlexAsfour is a graphic designer and illustrator from Miami. He runs his own studio IdeaStormStudios in sunny South Florida.
In his spare time, AlexAsfour likes to draw illustrations of tourism and scenery very much, and published a collection of world tourism posters.
These graphic style illustrations are mostly composed of color blocks, which are simple and fresh. The long-term composition makes the picture look very open and fascinating.
In addition, AlexAsfour also adds noise to the sky, mountains, cars and other scenes, and the soft gradient color is filled with granular texture, which not only gives the illustration a rich three-dimensional sense, but also makes the whole page look very delicate.
The colors of illustrations are mostly warm, full of retro flavor, and the flat wind with low saturation is soft, light and full of vitality. Posters are mainly based on graphic visual presentation of illustrations, with few words, including main subtitles and auxiliary information.
AlexAsfour takes into account the composition and color of illustrations when typesetting, and the style and arrangement of words are in harmony with the whole.

geometrical shape
In the 20th century, many travel agencies invited commercial designers instead of artists, and the poster style became more modern and simple.
Nowadays, Memphis style is very popular in graphic design, which is characterized by a large number of geometric elements such as points, lines and surfaces, lively and bold typesetting, bright colors and strong contrast.
ToralBheda, a designer from Mumbai, India, used this style to create a series of minimalist tourist posters, showing the representative elements of various countries or regions, such as landmark buildings, national flags, culture and so on. , with abstract visual language. The picture is simple but interesting.

High quality photography
The promotion of tourist attractions is inseparable from photographers, and good pictures can often make people think of "I must go to xx in my life" at a glance.
Large-scale temperament photography, coupled with simple typesetting copy, is the routine of many Japanese small fresh travel posters.
Each award-winning poster can be printed as a decorative painting. Photos show beautiful natural scenery everywhere from composition and color to light and theme.

Graphic creativity creative graphics
Expressing creativity in posters is also a common advertising routine, and people have a low sense of rejection of interesting and novel things. The content of tourist posters is to attract tourists, and how to express the beauty of scenic spots is a creative idea worth exploring.
For example, the print advertisement designed by ALMAPBBDO in Brazil for the travel magazine TOPDestinos is very novel, which vividly presents the waterfall scenery in the form of cake. In the gradual gray background, a large area of green and a small area of clear blue make people shine.
For another example, in this skiing-themed travel advertisement, there are no scenic spots in the poster, and only a few pieces of paper and a paper clip on the desk are used to build a simple skiing scene. At first glance, it is a travel advertisement aimed at office workers, and the copy and picture cause strong * * * sound.

Text production: looking for you
In the last article, we introduced some basic knowledge of poster design, involving various principles of how to make posters appear harmonious, including object association, color matching, repetition, symmetry, asymmetry, numerical value and so on. In this article, we will continue to introduce some other design skills, which will be applied to poster design. At the same time, we take a specific design project as an example to explain what should be paid attention to in the whole process of designing a poster, hoping to inspire your future creation.
Creative rhythm
Music produces melody by repeating or changing a set of notes. When listening to music, we always pay attention to the changes of each note unconsciously. If the melodies are beautiful, we will remember them again whenever we hear them again in the future.
In design, rhythm also plays this role. When you arrange design objects, you can make them more rhythmic, memorable and attractive to the audience.
Repetitive rhythm
Repetitive rhythm refers to a group of elements constantly appearing. Arrange all the elements, but each element is different, in order to produce a sense of rhythm. Imagine the rhythm of music: a composer can create a set of melodious melodies or emergency music. The key is the distance between notes. Before hearing the next music, the audience must have time to absorb the previous set of notes.
As a designer, you can repeat a circle 20 times in a poster. The repetition of colors, positions and objects in a circle can produce a sense of "beat", and the change of each element will produce attractive effects.
The circles in the figure 1 are repeated elements, but the position and color of each circle have changed.
Figure 2 In the above two posters to protect children, the repeated circle is not only the main element of composition, but also the element of a theme-both of them are composed of interesting visual elements and words to protect children. Alternating rhythm
In rhythmic composition, more than two elements change with each other, resulting in a set of arranged objects or patterns. Just like two singers singing a song together, they take turns to sing part of it. If you are a designer and the characters in the picture are lined up, you may want to change the pants (even skin color) of the model in the picture to create a sense of rhythm.
This creative technique is also applicable to the typesetting of characters in posters. If you use two fonts or two colors, you can use them alternately in the text to create a sense of rhythm.
Figure 3 The alternation of blue and brown produces the beat, and the change of width makes the structure an interesting visual element.
plain
Note that there is not much difference between these alternating elements-even a little difference is enough to make the poster attractive. The audience may not realize the specific difference at once, but it can still attract the audience's attention.
Progressive rhythm
In the gradual rhythm, every change is gradually produced. For the extension of rhythm, this composition can reduce the sense of urgency in the work. For example, the change of color is gradually increasing (or decreasing). The gradual change of vision is equivalent to the gradual increase and decrease of music from far to near in the song.
The poster above Figure 4 shows a group of dance figures as the main composition of the dance school poster to guide you.
Eyes gradually moved from above to above.
Many elements can create a gradual rhythm-whether pictures or words-some of which must be the same and some must be different. You can arrange a group of identical butterflies diagonally in the composition, but each butterfly has a slightly different color, size or angle, or a group of identical words are combined in faded colors and finally blended into the background. These compositions can create a sense of rhythm.
Progressive rhythm can give a flat poster a sense of hierarchy. This rhythm makes the poster more lively and energetic.
Proportional application
Many designers decide the proportion by feeling when designing posters. But sometimes our intuition is not always the most accurate, and mastering some proportional principles is of great help to how you allocate space in the layout. Let's look at some basic methods:
Golden section principle
The golden section principle was discovered by the Greeks in 500 BC. This principle was once called the "key" of applying proportion. The golden section principle is to divide a whole into two parts, and the ratio of the smaller part to the larger part is equal to the ratio of the larger part to the whole, which is expressed by the formula: a:b=b:(a+b). And the ratio of a rectangle that conforms to the golden section principle is 1: 1.438+08.
Fig. 5 schematic diagram of golden section
Whether people realize this ratio or not, most people prefer a rectangle that conforms to the golden ratio. In design works, the use of golden section rectangle gives people a more harmonious, natural and comfortable feeling. The golden section method is widely used in sculpture, painting and architecture. In addition to handmade works, you can even find the existence of the golden section principle in the structure of human body, animals and plants.
If we observe the proportion of rectangles such as posters and advertising magazines, we can find that they all use the golden section principle to divide space or line segments.
The poster in Figure 6 was designed by SpurDesign for the theater performance. Like many other posters, in
In this poster, the golden section principle should also be used as the proportion of rectangular areas in the picture.
Square root ratio of 2
The square root ratio of 2 is also widely used in poster typesetting. Their ratio is1:1.4 14 (the square root ratio of 2 is1.414), which is slightly different from the golden ratio. It is said that the square root of 2 symbolizes holiness and birth. So this ratio can often be seen in some ancient works.
The square root ratio of Figure 72 is a schematic diagram.
In poster design, the application of the square root ratio of 2, like the golden section principle, can also create a harmonious composition.
Figure 8 is like some works designed by using the golden section principle. Two rectangles divided by the square root of two also have the function of focusing. The poster of the professional bison rider above is designed in two spaces, one for placing pictures of bison and the other for placing words. Compared with the golden section, the small area is slightly smaller than gold.

Text composition
Many people will take it for granted that the image elements involved in a design work refer to those things that are not words-in fact, words are also an important visual element in the eyes of many designers.
Imagine those attractive poster works, and you will find that when you are communicating with the works, although a photo of a young lover running in the waves may evoke many memories, how can you achieve the purpose of real communication if the typesetting is not used properly-these words include the company's LOGO, explanatory text, etc.
Text typesetting is the most important thing for poster designers, because the font itself has a strong sense of quantity, and the words used in posters are very condensed sentences, which are horribly concise. In modern design, text typesetting contains various factors related to the text itself, the position of the text and the pictures in the text-so the typesetting of the text is not just about choosing a font.
But when we design posters, choosing fonts is always the starting point of our design. Now that we have thousands of fonts to apply, where should we start?
Because of the revolutionary development of desktop publishing system, everyone is eager for font selection. However, in order to make a poster have a consistent and coordinated effect, usually more than three fonts should not be used in a poster. When two or three fonts are used in the poster, they stand out because of the differences between the fonts-because they can form a contrast. But if you use multiple fonts, it will be very confusing and the focus will not be prominent. The purpose of our comparison is to highlight the most important things.
If several fonts are very close, the audience will be confused. Especially in posters, text information must be conveyed quickly, and the hierarchy of information must be clear. Don't use bold or italics too much. In many specific fonts, bold and italics are sometimes quite different from their original fonts.
Text typesetting principle
Among the many principles of text typesetting, the most important one may be simplicity and moderation.
Some decorative fonts are very attractive. There is no doubt that using these fonts in poster design can attract others' attention-but not everything that attracts attention is good. If you choose the wrong font, especially those with strong decoration, it will ruin your information. In most cases, we don't need to decorate fonts. If we have applied many design elements in poster design, such as pictures and some other repetitive elements, then choosing simple fonts will make your message convey faster. Because simple fonts and complex composition can be better coordinated.
If your composition is simple, you can also choose some relatively complex fonts. This can play two roles: first, it can increase the decorative effect of the poster and make the whole composition more attractive. Second, let others' attention turn to words.
The use of decorative fonts must be restrained as much as possible, for example, for words with only one or two words, but not suitable for descriptive words composed of multiple words. Using simple fonts and decorative fonts can have a good coordination effect and make the text more layered.
This leads to some other important principles when using words: coordination and contrast. The strong contrast between the two fonts can catch the eye of others and make a breakthrough in the work. Harmony and contrast can be produced by different fonts, or by the contrast between words and other elements, such as the contrast between words and pictures.
Fig. 9 In order to make people support New York State's bid for the 20 12 Olympic Games, the relevant departments adopted the above works as the symbol of bidding for the Olympic Games-a symbol that combines athletes with the Statue of Liberty. The sign is in new york.
It can be seen everywhere in parks, even in subway cars.
Photo 10 The outdoor advertisement about the Olympic bid consists of words. The font color is five rings, which expresses new york's enthusiasm for hosting the Olympic Games. The picture above is part of the text.
Outdoor advertising for Olympic bid.
We can recall some design principles mentioned earlier in this paper, including symmetrical coordination and rhythm repetition. These principles are not limited to the application of pictures or geometric figures. We can also apply these principles to the application of words.
Finally, let's talk about location-we don't mean where the text is placed on the page, but where your poster is placed in public places. If this poster is posted outside the subway car, how much time do you have to read the words there? How many words can you read when you drive by if you post them in the poster column on the street? So the environment of your poster determines the application of your text-including the choice of font, the size of the text and the space around the text, as well as the contrast between the text and the poster background.
Poster design project
In this article, you learned how to design an eye-catching poster through various creative skills. Now, you need to apply what you have learned to design a specific project.
Your customers give you a lot of freedom in design, so you can design boldly.
Project Description: Mozart Music Festival
You are assigned to design the poster of Mozart Music Festival for your city, which is also a sightseeing festival to attract tourists to your city. This music festival is organized by Lincoln Center in new york for the performing arts department to commemorate Mozart's artistic achievements. We also added performances by several famous classical musicians, such as Beethoven, Schubert and Haydn.
Your customers demand that the poster design can impress people, not only convey the atmosphere of ancient music, but also have a festive theme. Posters will be posted outside the theater, so be sure to pay attention from a distance. Passers-by and cyclists and motorists can notice.
Figure 1 1 Art institutions like Lincoln Center in new york mainly rely on posters to promote the performing arts.
Media, and passers-by are the main poster audience.
The target audience of the poster is mainly classical music lovers, mainly older and richer people, but the organizers also hope that music can save energy and cultivate young people's interest in classical music.
This poster is 20 inches wide and 30 inches high. To match the size of the erected billboards on which these posters are placed. But for the convenience of your design, you can design the specifications of 10× 15 or 4×6.
Posters must have the following words:
New york Tourism Orchestra performed Mozart Music Festival.
Discover Mozart, Beethoven and more.
[location]
[Performance Time]
Overview of project creation:
1. Understand the theme of the poster and the place where it is posted, so as to find the picture suitable for the poster;
2. Decide the design theme of the poster, so as to determine the target audience and clarify your research overview.
Reading.
3. Choose the expression form of the work, so that the work can accurately convey relevant information;
4. Consider the key points of poster composition, the priority of information and text typesetting.
Creative steps:
Like all successful design projects, you need to do some research on the activity at the beginning, and then determine a theme after the research-and then the specific design of the poster.
1, research project and location
Unless you are a lover of classical music, you need to spend some time to understand some design features of the genre, including CD covers, websites or other posters similar to classical music activities-these are all part of your research. You can ask yourself some questions:
What colors are commonly used in classical music? These colors are suggestive.
For what?
_ What font will be used? What music do these fonts remind people of?
_ Need a picture? How to apply these pictures? What effect can it produce? _
When you design this poster, you must take yourself as one of the target objects and consider where to display these posters outside the theater. If you can, see for yourself the actual environment of the cinema. For example, if the exterior wall of the theater is red brick, you will avoid using some crimson as the main color in the poster, so as not to be too conspicuous when it is posted.
Figure 12 The above picture is a poster of CascadeFestivalofMusic, which is very similar to the theme of the poster we want to build. The composition of the poster is harmonious, the words have a sense of rhythm and the picture.
At the same time, it expresses the location of the music festival and the theme of the music.
2. Clear the theme and find the right picture.
According to the information you have collected, then combine your city with Mozart (or classical music) to determine a theme. But don't forget your audience! How can we design works that can infect classical music lovers and arouse the interest of the younger generation?
When your theme is decided, don't worry too much about the organization of the details. What you need now is a sense of direction in the design, and it is clear what information your poster needs to convey, what colors and fonts to use and what pictures to use. How to convey your message quickly in the specific environment of poster display?
If necessary, you can start looking for the pictures you intend to use (of course, you don't need pictures, and focusing on words is equally attractive). If possible, you can shoot or design your own pictures-but you may use the pictures you see elsewhere that you think are suitable.
3, set up the design sketch
If you have a clear theme and know what words and pictures to use, you can start composing. You have to decide which part is the main part of your performance, how to guide the audience's eyes to see your poster, and how to make the information you want to convey clear.
Before designing, think carefully about some design techniques of consistency, coordination, rhythm and proportion that we use in our creation. And consider the following points:
How do you organize the different elements and objects in the poster? Some of these elements and objects require
Repeat, arrange or group? Your different choices will affect posters or
What different messages does the speaker convey?
_ How do you coordinate the posters-symmetrical or asymmetrical? These choices are suitable for your ocean.
Do newspapers have different effects on attraction? What should I do if I choose asymmetric composition?
Until the whole poster looks harmonious? What you have to consider is color, size, position, tone and so on. _ Does your poster need a sense of rhythm? If necessary, how do you apply your design elements to achieve this?
Effect?
_ Does the composition need the golden section or the square root of 2? If necessary, each
How to allocate this space? _
Step 4 make posters
Now you can put down the technology and start designing. Can be designed on Photoshop software, the size is what we just said (4× 6; 10× 15, but the actual size of 20×30 can also be used). First, start making background elements. To make your design more accurate, you can open the grid (View & gt Display & gt Grid) or display the ruler (View & gt Ruler) in Photoshop.
Put various elements (colors, patterns, geometric figures, etc. ) on the background. Of course, you can also use a picture as the background. If you need to modify or embellish the picture to be applied, you must do so before applying it. Then put these elements in the position you determine.
Everything can't be done in one step-you can go back to the previous steps and look at the security of various elements and objects.
Is it appropriate? After you put in various elements, it may not have the effect you imagined and needs to be adjusted. Step 5 add words
Now you can add the text required by the customer, and you can think about some principles we just mentioned-simplicity, coordination and the position of poster display. How to make the text clear and easy to read (but not boring)? Can words be in harmony with other elements? Is it really appropriate in the display position of the poster? Choose fonts carefully. Remember that you only need to choose two or three fonts. For some decorative words, you can only use them unless you think they are very suitable for use. But don't forget, your font should be unique and consistent with the whole work. Is this font attractive to young people or old people? Is it in line with the atmosphere of the music festival? Do words have a clear priority?
6. Modification of works
You should make the final effect really consistent with the composition you think is correct, and you can observe your final design again.
Are the figures in the design related? Is your work harmonious? Do you feel the rhythm of your work? Is there a clear visual focus in the work? Ok, now you are ready to submit your work to the customer.
If you want to extend your design, why not put your work horizontally? If it is to be applied to buses, only the horizontal specifications are suitable. At this time, the specification should also be changed to 12×4.
