Zhejiang Tourism Vocational College is the first independent tourism vocational college in China approved by the Zhejiang provincial government and filed by the Ministry of Education. It is also the only tourism vocational college in Zhejiang Province that trains high-quality tourism professionals. It is the construction unit of Zhejiang Demonstration Vocational College, which belongs to Zhejiang Tourism Bureau.

1983 In September, Zhejiang Tourism Vocational College, the predecessor of Zhejiang Tourism Staff Vocational College, was established in Zhejiang Hotel, with Zhao Kunshan and Tong Jiaxing as vice presidents, Liu Shufeng as party branch secretary, 8 full-time teachers and 8/kloc-0 students as the first batch.

At the beginning of 1984, the school moved to No.324 Hanghai Road, Hangzhou. The school covers an area of 17 mu, with a building area of 8885.45 square meters, with a schooling period of two and a half years. Mainly to cultivate junior and intermediate management talents in the tourism industry and carry out professional training for employees in the tourism industry in the province. The school has 36 full-time teachers and 26 students/kloc-0, and offers two majors: hotel management and tour guide.

1987 In order to adapt to the new situation of tourism development, Zhejiang Tourism School was established with the approval of the Provincial Economic Commission and the Provincial Education Commission, while Zhejiang Tourism Workers' Secondary Professional School was reserved for social enrollment, and two majors were set up, namely hotel service and management, travel agency service and tour guide.

It became one of the earliest secondary specialized schools for tourism in China at that time, and was one of the key tourism institutions supported by the National Tourism Administration during the Seventh Five-Year Plan and the Eighth Five-Year Plan. 1992 in order to meet the needs of multi-level talents in tourism development, the school adjusted its running direction in time. On the basis of consolidating and improving the original specialty, China cuisine specialty was added, junior high school graduates were recruited, and vocational high schools were set up. There are more than 450 students and 96 faculty members, including 38 full-time teachers. Comrade Yao Shenghou is the president and secretary of the General Party Branch of Zhejiang Tourism School.

From 1992 to 1998, the school has developed from five majors, namely hotel service and management, tour guide and travel agency service, Chinese cooking, accounting and business. In 2000, with the approval of the provincial government, Zhejiang Tourism Vocational College (Zhejiang Fazheng [2000] No.62) was established on the basis of Zhejiang Tourism School. Enrollment began in the same year, and the first batch of 240 junior college students were enrolled.
