What things cannot be brought to Australia for immigration? List of Australian immigration controlled items
Instructions on Australia’s entry-exit controlled items
If you really need to carry them, you should declare them truthfully. If you are not sure whether an item needs to be declared, you can consult airline personnel or Australian immigration officials, or choose to declare it. Declaration does not mean that the box will be opened and inspected, but if you fail to truthfully declare prohibited or restricted entry and exit items, taxable items, or provide forged tickets, you may be fined, confiscated, or imprisoned. If you declare your items truthfully, you will not be punished even if you are not allowed to bring them in. It is recommended to store items that need to be declared in a centralized manner in preparation for inspection. Most of the declared items will be left with the declarer after inspection, but if they pose a threat to Australia's biological environment, they may need to pay for disinfection treatment, or the items may be confiscated and destroyed. Inspections usually target suspicious persons or items and may use X-ray machine scanning, unpacking, and police dog sniffing.
