Historical legends

Tianfo Temple, a permanent temple. According to textual research, its age can be traced back to the second year of Gande in the Northern Song Dynasty (964 AD, the year of Jiazi in the lunar calendar), with a history of more than 1040 years. It is the main Buddhist activity place with the longest history, the largest scale and the widest followers in Hechi City, and is known as the first Buddhist temple in Hechi.

Tianfo temple

Tianfo Temple was originally a natural cave. The hole is covered with fine wood and the grass is drooping; The ceiling of the cave is hung by rocks, and bamboo shoots are hung upside down; The three walls are carved like chisels, and the dragon is like a phoenix; Stalagmites on the ground are uneven and row upon row; There are more than 2 acres of open space, which looks like a luxurious courtyard. Dripping water gurgles all year round, and every time Xu comes, it is breezy and refreshing. According to legend, in the second year of Gande in the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 964), a series of disasters occurred, such as drought, crop failure, fruit tree withering and frequent disasters, so people spontaneously built temples in the cave house to calm their nerves, offering incense and praying for rain.

Things are strange, too. After a few days, the weather was beautiful, and the fruit trees that had been dry for a long time benefited first and recovered one after another. In the second year, spring buds bloomed, bloom flowers fell, new fruits hung all over the branches, and autumn was fruitful. The crops were also bumper, the people turned the corner, and good things followed. In heaven, they celebrated each other and praised the efficacy of the temple gods.

Because the local people are mainly Zhuang, there is no native language, and there is no distinction between "country", "gram", "monarch" and "monarch" in spoken language, so "Guo Jun Temple" is circulated as "Ke Jun Temple" and "Guo Jun Temple". Because the temple is located in Taihua Mountain in Balie Village, there are Taihua Mountain Temple, Taihua Mountain Temple and Balie Guo Jun Temple in history. 1September, 1996, with the approval of the relevant departments of the municipal government and the autonomous region, it was renamed Tianfo Temple.

Since its birth, the Buddhist Temple (Guo Jun Temple) has been continuously expanded, abandoned and experienced vicissitudes. However, people believe in their gods, and for many years, pilgrims continued to prosper with candlelight.

Needless to say, the monks and nuns of Tianfo Temple (Guo Jun Temple) live up to expectations. In addition to meditation and chanting, they often pray for the people and avoid disasters, and provide food, clothing, diagnosis and assistance to victims in various disasters, which is well known.

Development history

According to "Lovely Hechi City" published by Guangxi People's Publishing House 1998 and the fourth series of "Hechi Literature and History" published by Hechi Literature and History Information Committee of China People's Political Consultative Conference, it was reported by the people that during the period of 26-28 years of the Republic of China (1937- 1939), Japanese planes invaded Hechi Town and Danchi Lilian.

1988, Ke Jun Temple (now Buddhist Temple) in Balie Village was identified as a cultural relic by the second general (re-) acceptance group of cultural relics in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It was built in Song Dynasty and rebuilt in Guangxu 1898 (1898) in Qing Dynasty. After the second general (re-) inspection and acceptance of cultural relics in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, according to the religious and historical influence of the temple, the Cultural Relics Management Office of the Autonomous Region suggested that the Cultural Relics Management Office of Hechi City rebuild and repair it, because there was no unfulfilled motion.

1995, with the support of the government, believers raised funds to rebuild the Buddhist Dojo in the former site of Guo Jun Temple, using the old name.

1996, Long Qiurong, a Buddhist disciple, and his disciples, with the approval of the religious department of Hechi City, the Tourism Bureau, the Hechi Municipal People's Government and the Religious Affairs Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, injected huge sums of money to rebuild Guo Jun Temple again, renamed it Tianfo Temple, and redeveloped the tourist area of Tianfo Temple. After 10 years, the temple facilities are improving day by day.

After thousands of years of vicissitudes, I don't know how many human storms have been bred, how many Buddha nebulae have been filled, and how many human dreams have been woven. For thousands of years, golden auspicious clouds have been floating over the Tianfo Temple, making it shine inside and outside. Perhaps, no one can really know how big, deep and mysterious the Tianfo Temple is. This is not to say that the Tianfo Temple is really infinite, but that ordinary people will never reach the temple and realm of Buddha.
