4. BTS light rail and MRT subway are not owned by the same company. It is impossible to vote for them all and use cards. And the fares of BTS and MRT are not cheap. If there are a few people together, it may be more cost-effective to take a taxi.

From the airport to the city

When many people go to Bangkok, the first thing they have to consider is transportation. Bangkok has two airports: Suvarnabhumi International Airport and Don Mueang International Airport. Domestic flights generally depart from Suvarnabhumi International Airport. There are three types of transportation options from this airport to the city: taxi, Airport Express, and online ride-hailing.

1. Taxi

At the airport, you can follow the signs to find the taxi stand. After continuous rectification, taxi drivers are more disciplined than before, but you still have to stress that you need to use the meter before getting in the car. If you don’t use the meter, just change the car. The airport will charge an administrative fee of 50 baht from the driver, which is borne by the tourists themselves. The final fee is the number on the table, 50 baht management fee, and highway toll.

Our airport taxi station is located on the first floor of the terminal. Before using the car, you can click on the car you want to take on the automatic numbering machine, and then go to the corresponding driver with the printed receipt with the number.

2. Airport Express

There is only one Airport Express, which is divided into red and blue lines and has eight stations. You can transfer to the MRT subway (A6 Makksan station) and BTS light rail (A8 Phaya Thai station) through the airport Huaixian. The blue table is for Monday to Friday, and the green table is for Saturday, Sunday and public holidays; the leftmost number in the table is the hour, and the right is the minute. For example, the earliest departure time is 6:02 in the morning, and so on.

3. Online car hailing

If you like to use software to hail a car, you can download Grab directly and the operation method is the same as Didi. Just select your origin and destination. However, this is different from the fare range given by Didi. This will directly display the specific amount, but does not include highway tolls, and additional payment will be made based on the actual situation. Grab offers a variety of vehicles, including private cars and taxis, which are economical and luxurious. Another thing to note is that there is a reservation fee for calling a taxi through Grab, which is about 20 baht. This reservation is collected by Grab. As long as you call a taxi through Grab, you will be charged. You can pay with bank card Alipay.

There is also a form of online car rental. Several rooms like this can be booked in advance on the travel platform, which saves a lot of trouble and doesn't have to worry about poor English. Someone will pick you up at the airport, usually waiting at Gate 4 in the lobby.

Going to shopping malls

Bangkok’s large shopping malls are basically along the BTS light rail. Taking the BTS is more reliable and can avoid traffic jams. There are currently two BTS lines, the dark green one is the Long Line, and the green one is the Sukhumvit Line. Not only tourists, but many locals also regard BTS as the most convenient and fastest way to travel. It is recommended to find the hotel's hand and walk along the BTS, which is more convenient

BTS charges according to the distance. The further you go, the more expensive it is. Ticket prices start from 16 baht, and the second stop is 22 baht. If you don't use an extension cable, it's usually 44 bits, capped. This price is much more expensive than rail transit in major domestic cities.

BTS also launched counting cards and stored-value cards, collectively called "Rabbit Cards". Both cards require 50 baht (non-refundable) plus a 50 baht deposit (refundable) plus a certain amount of prepayment before they can be used.

If you stay in Bangkok for less than a week, it is not recommended to buy it, because the counting card is for a fixed number of trips within 30 days, and there is no discount for using the stored-value card. BTS has also launched a one-day ticket priced at 140 baht. However, it should be noted that the coupon can be used unlimited times at 24:00 after purchase on the same day and before the end of BTS, rather than within 24 hours after the purchase time. Central Mall, Siam Mall, Terminal 21, EmQuartier, Chatucha Weekend Market, etc. All can be reached via BTS.
