How does Xiongmaogou Village in Gannan promote poverty alleviation by developing eco-tourism?

Xiongmaogou Village, with its back facing the mountains and water and an average elevation of 2,780 meters, relies on the tourism planning of "Labuleng" scenic spot in Xiahe County, Gannan Prefecture to develop characteristic folk customs and eco-tourism, drive local economic growth and help villagers get rid of poverty and become rich.

In Danglanggou Village (also known as Panda Village), Damai Township, Xiahe County, Gannan Prefecture, Gansu Province, Gong Baocai, the leader of the village's wealth, said that tourism brought more than 40 million yuan in income to the village last year. Among the 17 poor households in the village, 15 households have achieved the goal of getting rid of poverty, and the remaining two households are expected to get rid of poverty this year. According to Meng Yongxiang, secretary of the Party Committee of Damai Township in Xiahe County, three years ago, Gong Baocai asked him to close the quarry that had been open for many years and go home to develop tourism. At first, the villagers didn't believe that the development of tourism could be profitable, so Gong Baocai asked them to take them to places with good tourism development, such as Yunnan and Tibet. After the villagers found that the unique geographical advantages of Xiongmaogou Village were promising for developing tourism, many villagers joined in and set up Tibetan-style farmhouse music.

Due to the development of tourism, many tourists will come to Xiongmaogou Village for summer vacation. On the premise of not damaging the environment, Xiongmaogou Village is planning to develop a ski resort and several rock climbing bases in the valley, trying to develop diversified tourism management models and enrich winter tourism resources. Meng Yongxiang said that in two months, this 6-meter-wide asphalt road will be built to the entrance of Panda ditch village.
