Is it cost-effective to buy watches in Thailand?
In China, if you buy watches imported from China, and the value of high-grade watches is more than 1 10,000 RMB, you have to pay 1 1% import duty, 20% luxury consumption tax and 17% value-added tax.
At present, the tariff rate of domestic imported watches is in the range of 1 1%-20%, which is zero in Hong Kong and Macao, 3% in Taiwan Province, 7% in Singapore and 5% in Thailand. But there are no other tax requirements, that is, if you buy a watch in Thailand, it is at least 43% cheaper than buying it in China.
