What kind of writer is Dumas?

Dumas is the illegitimate child of Dumas and a seamstress, Mary-Catherine Rabe, who was born in Paris, France. After Dumas became famous, he hung out in the upper class and abandoned their mother and son. It was not until Dumas was seven years old that Dumas finally found his conscience and legally recognized his son. Although Dumas paid Rabe's living expenses, he never admitted that Rabe was his wife. Dumas' first memory was recorded in the preface of his play Claude's Wife (1873): it was in the attic of a house in the Italian Plaza at that time, at the home of his mother, Catalina Rabe. His father was writing with his crying son when he suddenly grabbed the child and threw him at the other end of the room. Just this year, some British actors came to France to perform Shakespeare's plays for the audience in Paris. Under this influence, Dumas began to write his five-act poetic tragedy Christine (1828).
