How to visit the Virtual Forbidden City?

First download the client, then install it, register on the official website, activate it with your email and log in.

The "Virtual Forbidden City" is a very large place.

Explore the architecture and culture of "Chinese Royalty" through tours, viewing scenes, participating in activities, and learning more about what you see. How to move in the "Virtual Forbidden City"?

Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move around the Virtual Forbidden City. Pressing the up arrow will move your character forward and pressing the down arrow will move your character backward. Press the left arrow to turn left and the right arrow to turn right. Tapping the up arrow twice will increase movement speed. You can go up the stairs and through the door into the open building.

How to change the appearance?

Only registered users can change the appearance. Click the Clipboard icon on the toolbar (or press F7) to access your Clipboard. You can control your appearance in the Appearance section of the Profile tab. Your current selection is in the center, which represents your current appearance in the Virtual Forbidden City. Click the image (or arrow) on the side to scroll through the available options. Your selection will be saved automatically.

Is it possible to change the way windows are displayed?

Registered users can change the transparency of the window display. Click the Clipboard icon on the toolbar (or press F7) to access your clipboard. The Profile tab of the Clipboard section contains a section titled Preferences, which has options for specifying how content is displayed in the Virtual Forbidden City.

Use the Opacity control to control the transparency or opacity of options in the Virtual Forbidden City. The control contains two arrows: the bottom arrow controls the lowest opacity of the display option, and the top option controls the highest opacity. Use the Fade Time drop-down option to specify the total time it takes for the option to reach minimum opacity before it fades out.

How to take a tour?

The "Virtual Forbidden City" provides a guided tour function, which will help you explore and understand the real "Forbidden City" in Beijing, as well as the culture of the "Chinese Royal Family". You can join the tour by interacting with the tour guide.

To find a tour, click the map icon on the toolbar (or press F2) and then click the View Detailed Map button. You can use the checkbox at the bottom of the section to show only tours. Click a tour in the list or a tour icon on the map, and then click the tour icon to go to where the tour starts.

To interact with a tour guide, walk up to the tour guide or right-click on the tour guide and select "Join Tour." The Chat screen will display a new tab for the tour, where your guide will provide you with a description of the tour and other instructions. To interact with a tour guide, use the Yes and No icons near the Chat screen text input field.

Is it possible to change the screen size?

Press Ctrl-O to access Virtual Forbidden City's advanced options, then select the Graphics tab. Use the Resolution drop-down option to specify the desired screen size and click Apply.
