As early as the Spring and Autumn Period, Zaozhuang belonged to Gao State in the east, Yang State in the south, Guo Xue in the west, Teng State and Xiaoguo in the north. 1944, the anti-Japanese government of tengxian was established, and it belongs to the second district of Lunan Administrative Office. 1949 is Yi and tengxian, Yi county is Taizu area, and tengxian is Nishan area.

1953 Yixian and tengxian were changed to leaders of Jining Society. 1960, Shexian county was changed to county-level Zaozhuang city. 196 1 was rebuilt as a municipality directly under the central government of Shandong province.

Zaozhuang is an important modern coal chemical, energy, building materials and machinery manufacturing base in Shandong Province, a new scientific and technological innovation base, and one of the central cities in southern Shandong. Famous scenic spots include: Taierzhuang Ancient City, Weishan Lake Wetland Red River Scenic Area, Guanshi Liuyuan, Mozi Memorial Hall, Baodugu and so on.
