Hu Zongnan Villa is located at No.45 Xiangshan Road, Xigu Villa District, Lushan Mountain.

When I lived here more than 20 years ago, I was told that this villa belonged to Cheng Qian, but now I don't know why it became the first-class general of the Kuomintang, Hu Zongnan. As far as I know, Hu Zongnan's private villa is in Taiyi Village, Shannan. Maybe the rumor was wrong before, or maybe Hu Zongnan lived in this villa for a few days.

With the change of the three dynasties, these old villas built in the Qing Dynasty on Lushan Mountain have no accurate files, and things have changed. Their owners have changed many times, not to mention countless long and short guests.

No.45 Xiangshan Road is a traditional masonry mixed structure, facing south, with two symmetrical floors, octagonal pavilions on both sides of the front, a concave entrance on the first floor and a closed veranda on the second floor.

The text of online villa introduction is also exactly the same copy and paste, claiming to be a typical European villa, but I think it is a combination of Chinese and western. Stable and regular, but closed and rigid.

Today, I bought Lushan Modern Architectural Cultural Landscape published by Tongji University at Xinhua Bookstore in Lushan. In the book, No.45 Xiangshan Road is classified as China Villa. Note that it is not Chinese style. My understanding is that China Villa refers to villas built by domestic dignitaries and rich people during the Republic of China, which is different from villas built by foreign missionaries and businessmen before. China Villa is based on European and American villas, which combines the aesthetics of China people.

No.45 Xiangshan Road, located at the end of Xigu Mountain Villa in Lushan Mountain, is relatively remote and rarely visited. Long-term management by the hotel in the cloud, not assigned to units or individuals. It is also for this reason that the whole villa and courtyard are well preserved, and many old villas on Lushan Mountain have been transformed beyond recognition, and the courtyard has been built in a mess.

1993 stayed in this villa for about a week. The state-owned factory where I worked at that time was not bad. The trade union built two villas in Lushan Mountain, No.45 Xiangshan Road and No.42 opposite it. Every summer, employees will be organized to go up the mountain for summer recuperation. I only stayed in the factory for a few years at that time, and I was not qualified for recuperation (most of the convalescents were old masters engaged in toxic and harmful work). I went in first that year, and the leader made an exception and let me enjoy the mountain for a week.

At that time, I felt the unique charm of Lushan Mountain and understood how to touch this most influential humanistic mountain in modern times.

That week, I didn't go to other scenic spots except a few hundred meters, such as Qinhu Lake and several old villas nearby. Sitting in front of the villa every day, reading a book, or staring blankly at these thick and straight centuries-old pines and cypresses. Sometimes, clouds float from one side or the other of the valley and fill the wide courtyard in a short time.

There are many kinds of fog, some as light as gauze, some as thick as white floc, some have disappeared in the drift, and some have brought cold raindrops. ...

Only by staring blankly in front of the old houses can we understand why there are so many old villas in Lushan. Villa is a leisure residence in suburbs and rural areas. Integrating into nature, recuperating, pursuing quality and enjoying life are the functions of the villa. Only by sitting in front of the villa for a long time can you understand why Lushan Mountain in modern times attracts so many military businessmen, priests and politicians, and you can understand why almost all shining names in modern times are engraved on this mountain.

So Lushan Mountain is not suitable for sightseeing in the usual sense, and her scenery is not outstanding. The most precious wealth of Lushan Mountain is hundreds of old villas with different styles and no similarities, and the stories surrounding these villas.

Take part in a tour group for a day or two, follow the guide's banner, panting over mountains and mountains, listening to the stories of emperors and immortals fabricated in your ears, staying in a humble and humid hotel and coping with a tourist meal with little soup, you will never feel the charm of Lushan Mountain.

Cheap tour groups in a hurry are completely contrary to the leisurely life in the villa. This is why many tourists complain about Lushan Mountain.

To experience Lushan Mountain, you don't have to spend much money, you have to choose to travel freely, and you have to live on the mountain, not "accommodation", but "living". Even if it's only for a day or two, don't run around on the mountain, find a quiet villa area, sit down in a daze, and slowly, you will blend in.

In the late 1990s, the efficiency of the state-owned factory where I worked became worse and worse, and the number of villas on the mountain was reduced from two to one. Later, these benefits were gradually cancelled and wages began to default. A few years later, the factory was sold.

After nearly 30 years, I once again stepped into No.45 Xiangshan Road. The appearance of the villa has not changed much, but the house has changed beyond recognition. Wood floors and painted walls have been replaced by bright aluminum alloys and large tiles, and even the structure of the house has changed a lot. I can't even remember what it was like.

There are some graphic exhibition boards introducing Hu Zongnan on the wall. I have seen all the pictures, but the text introduction doesn't make it clear about his life experience, which is quite unreliable gossip. I believe that if Hu Zongnan saw these things, he would take out a pistol stuck in his waist.

Today, No.45 Xiangshan Road is a modern hotel. The girl playing mobile phone at the counter said that the house price during this period was between 500 and 1000. I asked if it was a standard room, but she said she didn't know.
