Nansi Scenic Area (tourist area) is located in a valley in Alashan Zuoqi, Alashan League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, northwest of Bayin Senbul, the main peak of Helan Mountain. It consists of Nansi District, Zhanmao Mountain and virgin forest area, among which Nansi District is the key sightseeing area, and there is a temple-Guangzong Temple in Zuo Qi, Alashan.

Guangzong Temple, called Nansi in ancient times, is one of the three major Tibetan Buddhist temples in Inner Mongolia. It is also the largest temple in Alashan region. Guangzong Temple is famous in Mongolian and Tibetan religious circles for its body stupa dedicated to the Sixth Dalai Lama. In the twenty-fifth year of Qianlong (1760), Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty named Guangzong Hall.

The main buildings of Guangzong Temple are Huanglou Temple, Dajingtang and Daxiong Hall. Huanglou Temple in Guangzong Temple is a two-story pavilion-style building with a gold-plated copper tower, which is more than ten feet high. The pagoda gate is inlaid with various gems, including a three-inch-high red gold Buddha statue and the body of the Sixth Dalai Lama. In the center of the Grand Sutra Hall of Guangzong Hall is a gilded statue of Sakyamuni, flanked by the statues of sixteen arhats and four heavenly kings. The Buddha statue is exquisitely carved and can be called an artistic treasure.

The three small temples around Guangzong Temple, namely Zhanmao Mountain, Erdene Zhao and Daobu Jilin, which are far away from the temple, are all managed by Guangzong Temple. Sub-temples or subordinate temples include Zhaohua Temple (Chaoke Tukure), Cheng qin Temple (Menjilin), Miaogeji Temple (Tukemu), Shaerzi Temple, Chagan Gaole Temple and Tianzhu Shimen Temple (Jiagelong) in Gansu.

Their Kampo (Dharma Terrace) is either held by the Lama of Guangzong Temple or nominated by this temple and appointed by Guangzong Temple. The positions of the Great Lama, the Tang Master (every teacher is expensive) and other major monks were nominated by our temple, and Guangzong Temple approved the appointment.

Nansi Temple was built in the 22nd year of Qianlong (A.D. 1756). After the completion of the temple, the body of Cangyang Jiacuo was invited from Chaoge Tuhure Temple (Zhaohua Temple) to be enshrined in the temple, and was honored as the first generation of kudzu vine (living Buddha) in the temple. In the 25th year of Qianlong (A.D. 1760), the Qing government gave the inscription "Guangzong Hall" written in Mongolian, Chinese, Manchu and Tibetan.

There are also valuable cultural relics in the temple, such as the canopy in Chiba, ganden, the bell drill of Xuanzang (Tang priest) in the Tang Dynasty, the five Buddha crowns of the 6th Cangyang Gyatso, the silver pot given by the 8th Panchen Lama, and various seals. The area of the South Temple is not too big, so visitors can walk and play.

Today, the rock walls on both sides of the gate of Guangzong Temple are covered with painted Buddha statues, which is the largest stone Buddha group in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Scenic spots can be divided into religious and humanistic landscapes and natural ecological landscapes.
