Shan, a provincial administrative region in People's Republic of China (PRC), is the capital of Taiyuan. Because it is located in the west of Taihang Mountain, east of Taihang Mountain, west and south of Luliang Mountain and Yellow River, north of the Great Wall, and bounded by Hebei, Henan, Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia and other provinces, it is called Jin for short. It is located between 34 34'-40 44' north latitude and110/4'-14 33' east longitude, with a total area of 156700 square kilometers. The mountainous area accounts for more than 80% of the total area.
