Friends will come to Beijing in July...(stay in Beijing for about a week) and would like to recommend the most unique places...

I designed a 10-day tour for someone a few days ago and selected part of the itinerary. Please refer to it.

It is recommended to live near Qianmen or Wangfujing, in the city center, and close to the subway. The Beijing subway is very convenient. It costs 2 yuan to transfer at any time without leaving the station. It can basically reach the main urban areas and scenic spots.

Attractions to visit: Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, Jingshan, Beihai, Summer Palace, Old Summer Palace, Great Wall, Bird's Nest, Water Cube, Botanical Garden, Fragrant Hill, Happy Valley (or Chaoyang Park), Zoo, etc.< /p>

1. The Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square are together. If you just want to take a quick look, you can finish the tour in half a day. If you want to watch the flag-raising, you can take a taxi to Tiananmen Square early in the morning. It’s very close and costs 11 yuan. The flag-raising ceremony in July is probably around 4:40. If you don’t want to see it, go to the square around 9 o’clock and first visit the Chairman’s Memorial Hall (I think it’s not open on Mondays or Tuesdays), the Monument to the People’s Heroes, and the Grand Theater is also nearby. Then enter the Forbidden City from Tiananmen Square, and come out from the north gate of the Forbidden City at noon to find a place to have lunch and rest. Then you can go to Jingshan or Beihai (also known as Shichahai). Jingshan Park is just across the north gate, and Beihai is about 800 meters away. My suggestion is to go to Beihai. Jingshan requires climbing, so it’s not suitable to walk for half a day on a hot day. Find a rickshaw to Beihai, go in and walk along the lake, rest, and then look at the Nine Dragon Wall. We spent the evening clubbing in Houhai.

2. Spend one day at the Summer Palace and Old Summer Palace, first go to the Summer Palace. Take Metro Line 4 to Beigongmen Station and get off at the North Gate of the Summer Palace. You can also get off at Xiyuan Station and take a taxi for 10 yuan to the main entrance of the Summer Palace. We leave the park at noon and take a taxi to Old Summer Palace, which is the starting price. In the afternoon, we walked around the Old Summer Palace and then returned to the hotel. There is also a subway station in front of the Old Summer Palace. You can also visit Peking University and Tsinghua University nearby, and it is just one stop away from the Summer Palace and Old Summer Palace.

3. One day at the Great Wall. Beijing CITS and China Youth Travel Service have individual groups that depart every day. The routes are Badaling Great Wall, Ming Tombs, Bird's Nest, Water Cube, etc. There are also tourist buses to the Great Wall and other places near Xuanwumen subway station. One-day tour costs about 100-160 yuan. This is the most convenient and solves the biggest traffic problem. If you are tired or are not interested in sightseeing spots, you can rest in the car. On the way back, you can see the bird's nest and water cube at night, which are more beautiful than during the day. You can check the reservations on the websites of CITS and CYTS in advance.

You can also take a train to Badaling from Beijing North Railway Station, which is Xizhimen Railway Station. There are tourist trains to Badaling every morning at 7:26, 8:00 and 9:33, soft seats cost 23 yuan. There is also a subway station in Xizhimen. Take Exit A1 to Beijing North Railway Station. Badaling Railway Station is about 1,600 meters away from the entrance of the Great Wall, so you can walk there. Take the train back in the afternoon and go see the Bird's Nest and Water Cube in the evening. The advantage of this arrangement is that there is more freedom and there will be no traffic jams, but it is not convenient to go to the Ming Tombs and other places.

My personal suggestion is to go by train on a hot day. Leave early and return at noon. Go to the Water Cube in the afternoon and take a dip in the water park. Come out in the evening to see the night view of the Bird's Nest and the Water Cube.

4. Botanical Garden, Temple of the Reclining Buddha, Biyun Temple, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, and a day at Xiangshan. Take Metro Line 4 and get off at Beigongmen, transfer to bus No. 331, and get off at Wat Pho Station (about 72-75 if you take a taxi from the city center). First visit Wat Pho, and then walk to the Botanical Garden. In the afternoon, take bus 318, 360, 630, etc. to Xiangshan in one stop. First visit Biyun Temple (including Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall), and then take the cable car up and down Xiangshan. It should be noted that the Botanical Garden, Biyun Temple, Xiangshan, etc. are far away from the bus station and require a long walk, so physical exertion on this day is a problem, so you can choose a visiting route as appropriate.

5. One day at the zoo (including the aquarium). The subway can reach the zoo. Take a small electric car directly after entering the door and go to the back door to visit the aquarium first, and then visit the main entrance. In this way, you can return by subway. If you like to shop for clothes, you can also go to the zoo early and visit the zoo wholesale market early in the morning before entering the park for fun.

6. Spend a day shopping in Xidan, Wangfujing, Qianmen and Dongdan old business districts. It’s a day of rest and adjustment. These areas are the old commercial centers of Beijing. Xidan is more modern, while the other three basically rely on reputation. Make your own choice. Or go shopping at 798 on this day.

7. One day at Happy Valley, or one day at the newly opened Happy Water Cube.

There are also scenic spots in the city or suburbs such as World Park, Badachu, Yonghe Temple, Temple of Heaven, etc., as well as tourist routes in the suburbs of Beijing.

To eat, go to Guijie Bar, or search on Fantong.com, there are too many to list.
