Mount Emei is the Dojo of Samantabhadra and one of the four Buddhist shrines in China. According to legend, Buddhism was introduced into Mount Emei in 1 century. The development of Buddhism in the past 2000 years has left a rich Buddhist cultural heritage for Mount Emei, and created many eminent monks and great virtues, making Mount Emei gradually become a Buddhist holy place with far-reaching influence in China and even the world. Now we are located in Jinding, the second peak of Emei Mountain, with an altitude of 3077 meters. It is a large building complex, which used to include Siwa Hall, Tongwa Hall, Jinding (Jin Dian), Guangxiang Temple and Zu Hall. The earliest building was Puguang Temple in the Eastern Han Dynasty, which was changed to Guangxiang Temple in the Tang and Song Dynasties, and rebuilt to Tiewa Temple by monk Baotan in the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. The two halls, Siwa and Tongwa, were built for the monks who died in the Ming Dynasty. Jinding Jin Dian is a bronze temple founded by Zen master Miao Feng in Wanli period of Ming Dynasty. During Wanli period, Emperor Zhu Yijun inscribed it as "Yongming Huazang Temple". Jinding is named after "Golden Hall". According to the relevant data, the four walls of the doors and windows of the Golden Temple are all bronze infiltrated with gold, with ten thousand small buddhas in the middle, and the road map of Sichuan and Sichuan is engraved on the door wall. When the morning sun shines on the top of the mountain, the Golden Temple is dazzling and spectacular against the sunshine, so people call it the "Golden Roof". Unfortunately, during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, a fire caused Jin Dian to collapse, leaving only a bronze monument. Among the existing Huazang Temple, there are several original Jin Dian doors and windows in Huazang Temple. From these relics, we can imagine how magnificent the Golden Temple is.
Today, Huazang Temple is bigger than Huazang Temple. The word "Huazang Temple" was inscribed by Zhao Puchu, president of the Chinese Buddhist Association. 1990. The first hall is the Maitreya Hall, in which there is a bronze statue of Maitreya. On the side of the Maitreya Buddha statue is the first bronze monument in Jin Dian. The second hall is the Hall of Heroes. The three-body Buddha statue of Sakyamuni is provided in the temple. After the Three-body Buddha, there are bronze elephants and bronze statues of Pu Xian, both of which are relics of the 1972 Jinding fire. The third hall is Pu Xian Hall. In the center of the hall hangs the plaque "Jinding", which is the calligraphy collection of Liu Gongquan, a great calligrapher in the Tang Dynasty.
The Golden Dome, surrounded by ten faces, is the highest golden Buddha in the world, the first artistic model of Pu Xian, and the perfect combination of Buddhist rituals, ceremonies and models. The Golden Buddha is a bronze-cast gilded Buddha statue, 48 meters high and weighing 660 tons. It consists of a pedestal and ten statues of Pu Xian. Among them, the pedestal is 6 meters high, 27 meters long and 27 meters wide, with ten wishes of Pu Xian engraved on all sides and decorated with granite relief. The square Pu Xian statue is 42 meters high and weighs 350 tons. With perfect design and smooth craftsmanship, the golden Buddha is the masterpiece of the giant bronze Buddha, which has high cultural and aesthetic values and is the crystallization of artistic wisdom on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. Jin Fotong is 48 meters high, which is derived from the Buddhist scripture "Forty-eight Wishes for All Living Beings", which means Amitabha's forty-eight wishes for all living beings. The "ten" in the golden Buddha has four meanings: first, the meaning of universal enlightenment and ten wishes; Secondly, Pu Xian's ten headshots respectively embody the connotation of universal aspiration. The head portrait is divided into three layers, with different expressions, representing the specific meaning of each wish; Third, it represents ten directions in Buddhism, which means endless space; Fourth, it represents the infinity of time.
Dear tourists and friends, our trip is over here. I hope the beauty, beauty and wonder of Mount Emei will leave you with beautiful memories.
