After more than 40 years of development, Yunnan has formed a development pattern with the urban agglomeration in central Yunnan as the center, western Yunnan, northern Yunnan, northeastern Yunnan, southeastern Yunnan and Nancheng Town in western Yunnan as the sub-centers, including all major cities in Yunnan.

The urban agglomeration in central Yunnan, with Kunming as the core and Qujing, Yuxi, Chuxiong and Mengzi as the sub-centers, has always been the best area for economic development in Yunnan. However, cities in other parts of Yunnan are also developing well and are the backbone of Yunnan's development. Let's take a look at other areas and advantages of the five major urban agglomerations besides the central Yunnan urban agglomeration.

Beicheng Town Group in western Yunnan is a town group composed of Shangri-La, Lushui and Lijiang, including all counties and cities in Nujiang, Diqing and Lijiang, and Jianchuan and Heqing counties in northern Dali.

The main objectives of towns in the northwest of Yunnan are to protect the biodiversity and cultural diversity in the northwest of Yunnan, coordinate the relationship between regional protection and development, scientifically plan the spatial development pattern, continuously improve the urbanization rate in the northwest of Yunnan, and improve the quality of population and the quality of life of residents. The towns in the north of western Yunnan are connected with Tibet and Sichuan, bordering Myanmar, with rich tourism resources and strong plasticity.

The urban agglomeration in western Yunnan is a super-large urban agglomeration including all counties and cities of Dali, Baoshan and Dehong, which is composed of Dali metropolitan area with Dali, Longyang, Tengchong and mangshi as the core, Longtengmang metropolitan area and economic belt along the border.

The goal of the town cluster in western Yunnan is to become an important bridgehead and pioneer area of China's opening to the southwest, and to become a land corridor of China's opening to the southwest. The urban cluster in northeast Yunnan is centered on Zhaoyang District and Ludian County, plus Zhaotong City and Huize County in Qujing City.

Northeast Yunnan is rich in humanities and has a long history, which has a great influence in modern Yunnan. The urban agglomeration in northeast Yunnan, with Zhaoyang District and Ludian County as the core, has a population of more than 6 million and obvious advantages. At the same time, northeast Yunnan is also a thoroughfare of three provinces, connecting Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou, and its future development is limitless.

Chengnancheng Town Group in western Yunnan consists of Linxiang District, Simao District and Jinghong City, including all districts, counties and cities in lincang, Pu 'er City and Xishuangbanna Prefecture.

The goal of Chengnancheng Town Group in western Yunnan is roughly the same as that in western Yunnan, and it is also to build a bridgehead for China's opening to the outside world and a southwest gate for Yunnan's opening to the outside world. Diversified national culture and intoxicating scenic spots make southwest Yunnan one of the areas where Yunnan's population flows in. At present, the traffic network construction in southwest Yunnan is also under way. I believe that the development of southwest Yunnan will be impressive after the completion of traffic construction.

Towns in southeastern Yunnan are composed of mengzi city and wenshan city, including counties and cities in Honghe Prefecture and Wenshan Prefecture.

The goal of the town cluster in southeastern Yunnan is to accelerate the urbanization process of Gejiu City and mengzi city, as well as wenshan city and Yanshan County, and make southeastern Yunnan a new growth pole in Yunnan. Towns in southeastern Yunnan also have a large population, a long history, rich tourism resources and strong plasticity. In the future, they will also be built into the south gate of Yunnan to South Asia and Southeast Asia, with unlimited potential.

The urban agglomeration in central Yunnan and the five major urban agglomerations around Yunnan are important parts of Yunnan's economic development and regional development. I believe that with the joint efforts of the people of the whole province, Yunnan Province will definitely become the new growth pole of China and get rid of the label of "backwardness" in other people's minds.
