Scenic spots in northern and southern Xinjiang

There are many scenic spots in northern and southern Xinjiang. The economy and tourism in northern Xinjiang are more developed than those in southern Xinjiang. The main attractions are: Grape Valley, Tianshan Tianchi, Kanas Lake, Flame Mountain, desert park and Shanshan. The main scenic spots in southern Xinjiang are: Luobuzhai, Mysterious Grand Canyon in Tianshan Mountain, Thousand Buddha Cave in Qizil, Kuqa Palace, etc.

Grape valley

Named for its rich grapes, it is a tourist attraction in Turpan, Xinjiang. On may 8, 2007, Turpan grape valley scenic spot was officially approved by the national tourism administration as a national AAAAA-level tourist scenic spot.

Tianshan Tianchi Lake

Yaochi, formerly known as Yaochi, is located in fukang city, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, halfway up the north slope of Bogda Peak. It is a natural scenic spot centered on high mountains and lakes, 97 kilometers away from Urumqi.

Qizil Thousand Buddha Cave

Qizil Grottoes is a large-scale grottoes group with the earliest excavation and the westernmost geographical location in China. Together with Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, it enjoys the reputation of "Four Grottoes" in China. It was excavated in the 3rd century, and gradually stopped construction in the 8th-9th century.
