The scrappage age of small trucks

Three-wheel vehicles and low-speed trucks equipped with single-cylinder engines have a service life of 9 years, low-speed trucks and micro trucks equipped with multi-cylinder engines have a service life of 12 years, and dangerous goods transport trucks have a service life of 10 years , other cargo vehicles (including semi-trailer tractors and full-trailer tractors) have a service life of 15 years.

According to the relevant provisions of the "Standard Regulations on Compulsory Scrapping of Motor Vehicles":

Article 5 The service life of various types of motor vehicles are as follows: ?

(1) Small , Mini passenger taxis are used for 8 years, medium-sized passenger taxis are used for 10 years, and large passenger taxis are used for 12 years; (2) Rental passenger cars are used for 15 years; ?

(3) Small coach buses are used for 10 years, medium-sized coach buses are used for 12 years, and large coach buses are used for 15 years; ?

(4) Public transport buses are used for 13 years; ?

(5) Other small and micro commercial passenger vehicles shall be used for 10 years, and large and medium-sized commercial passenger vehicles shall be used for 15 years; ?

(6) Special school buses shall be used for 15 years; ?

(7) Large and medium-sized non-commercial passenger vehicles (excluding large cars) with a 20-year term; ?

(8) Three-wheeled vehicles and low-speed trucks equipped with single-cylinder engines 9 years of use, 12 years of use for low-speed trucks and mini trucks equipped with multi-cylinder engines, 10 years of use of dangerous goods transport trucks, and 15 years of use of other trucks (including semi-trailer tractors and full-trailer tractors); ?

(9) Special operation vehicles with cargo-carrying function are used for 15 years, and special operation vehicles without cargo-carrying function are used for 30 years; ?

Extended information

For old cars that are more than 15 years old, if they fail to obtain the motor vehicle inspection mark for three consecutive inspection cycles (i.e. one and a half years), they will be forcibly scrapped.

The starting date of the service life of a motor vehicle is calculated based on the registration date. However, if the registration formalities have not been completed for more than 2 years since the date of leaving the factory, the starting date will be calculated based on the date of leaving the factory.

For small and micro taxi passenger vehicles (except pure electric vehicles) and motorcycles, the relevant departments of the people's governments of provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government may, based on local actual conditions, formulate regulations that are stricter than the above-mentioned service life, but small , Mini passenger taxis must be no less than 6 years old, three-wheel motorcycles must be no less than 10 years old, and other motorcycles must be no less than 11 years old.

There is no service life limit for small and micro non-commercial passenger vehicles, large non-commercial cars, and wheeled special mechanical vehicles. The new regulations also stipulate that motor vehicles that have reached a certain mileage will be scrapped. The owner of a motor vehicle that has reached the following mileage can sell the motor vehicle to a scrapped motor vehicle recycling and dismantling enterprise, which will register, dismantle, and destroy the scrapped motor vehicle in accordance with regulations. The motor vehicle registration certificate, number plate, and driving license must be submitted to the traffic management department of the public security organ for cancellation. Among them, if private cars have traveled 600,000 kilometers, three-wheel motorcycles have traveled 100,000 kilometers, and other motorcycles have traveled 120,000 kilometers, the state will guide them to be scrapped.
