Twenty kilometers around Hongcun, Anhui Province, there are three small ancient villages hidden, and the eleventh trip is not crowded.
In recent years, I have probably visited all the ancient villages in Huizhou. If I have to recommend someone who is few and fun, Nanping is my first thought. Nanping Ancient Village is about 16km away from Hongcun. If you drive here, the road conditions are very good. Hongcun's slogan is "Village in Painting", while Nanping's slogan-"China Film Village" has shot many films such as Zhang Yimou's Ju Dou, as well as many variety shows and documentaries.
Since it is favored by film framing, it is more than enough for tourists to take good-looking photos. Everyone knows that the scenery of ancient villages in Huizhou never disappoints people. That mainly depends on the characteristics of Nanping! Nanping is known as the "most easily lost" Huizhou ancient village. There are 72 living lanes in the village, extending in all directions, and outsiders seem to have little difference. If you are not careful, you will get lost. I'll teach you a method. If you can't get out, remember to look at the water hole. The downstream direction is out of the village, and the upstream direction is into the village. This is because most ancient villages in Huizhou are built by mountains, and the water flow is formed because of the topography, which is convenient for domestic water use. This method of leaving the village is suitable for 99% of Huizhou ancient villages, and I don't tell most people.
Up to now, Nanping has well preserved eight ancient ancestral temples with different surnames, which are arranged in sequence on the 200-meter-long axis of a treaty. Among them, Ye's ancestral hall has the strongest preservation integrity and visitation. There are many kinds of ancestral halls, family ancestral temple, which is a branch ancestral hall. Their modes and functions are completely different. It is also a good place to learn about ancient Huizhou culture. Talking with local grandfathers can give you a clear understanding of popular science.
Lu Cun is very close to Hongcun, and the linear distance is only 1km. It is precisely because it is too close that it is often shrouded by the "protagonist aura" of Hongcun. Now that we are all here, most tourists will definitely choose Hongcun, but I also cherish the tranquility of Lucun, because it is rare to sit for a while from the noisy city.
Lu Cun is a small place, and the biggest attraction is the woodcarving building in the village. The exquisite wood carving skills here are unmatched by the whole Huizhou ancient village and even the whole country. Although many of them were destroyed during the Cultural Revolution, it is not difficult to see the precision between them from the remaining wood carvings. The owner of this woodcarving building was Lu Million, the richest man in the village at that time. He is not only rich, but also full of energy. He married a six-room concubine, and their residence is a very exquisite old Huizhou building. This woodcarving building named Zhicheng Hall is the place where the big house and the second house live together. Wood carvings are all made by the best woodcarvers in Huizhou.
Bishan Village is probably the most literary ancient village in Huizhou, about 15km away from Hongcun. There are more than 100 well-preserved ancient houses and ancestral halls in the village. However, the attraction of Bishan Village is two characteristic shops in the village. One is a homestay called "Pig Bar", which is one of the earliest and most successful homestays in Huizhou and is deeply loved by young artists. The other is Bishan Bookstore, the eighth branch of Nanjing pioneer bookstore.
This Bishan bookstore is really awesome. Qitaitang, which opened directly in the village, was built in Jiajing period of Qing Dynasty, more than 200 years ago. The collision between ancient and modern cultures has a great visual impact. Two unrelated things look particularly harmonious when combined.
Such a good and quiet environment also makes Bishan Bookstore not only sell books, but also sell coffee, and hold some celebrity signing parties, music salons and second-hand book fairs from time to time. Compared with the environment of the first two ancient villages, Bishan Bookstore has its own audience, which has contributed to the tourism of Bishan Village. Even if you don't pay much attention to this aspect, I think it is excellent to visit such a bookstore with local characteristics during the holiday.
In a word, these three ancient villages may not be worth your special trip for them, but when you visited Hongcun during the "Eleventh" holiday, not many tourists had a good experience. I think it's worthwhile. I suggest collecting!
