Huanggang, known as Huangzhou in ancient times, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Hubei Province and one of the cities in Wuhan metropolitan area. Huanggang is located in the east of Hubei, at the southern foot of Dabie Mountain, on the north bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, in the middle section of Beijing-Kowloon Railway, at the junction of Chutou Wuwei and Hubei, Henan, Anhui and Jiangxi provinces, and connected with the mountains and rivers of Wuhan. The terrain gradually inclines from north to south, and the Dabie Mountain is the border between Henan and Anhui in the northeast.
