Edogawa, Tokyo, Japan

Hello, I also started in Edogawa Ward when I was studying abroad. Maybe you will still be my junior.

Let me tell you briefly. Edogawa is located in the easternmost part of Tokyo, adjacent to Chiba Prefecture. It has a good environment and low population density.

There are many Chinese people. The trains you will often use are the "East-West Line (to the city center)" or the "Coastal Line (to Odaiba or Shinagawa)"

East-West Line The nearest stations you will use on the line are "Kasai Station or Nishi-Kasai Station". Rapid trains do not stop at these two stations, so be careful not to overtake them when you go home.

There is a large supermarket "ジャスコ" in Nishikasai with a full range of goods. You can buy daily necessities and food. There is usually a discount on processed foods starting at 7 pm every night (usually not overnight, so you have to dispose of them) Egg bread and everything are cheap.

There is Kasai Rinkai Park in Minami Kasai, which is very beautiful. It has an aquarium and a pier, and admission is free. If you have time, you can go take a look or do morning exercises.

In terms of part-time work, don’t worry if you first get used to life when you first go to Japan. Salaries in Edogawa District are not high. It is recommended to go to the city center to find part-time job opportunities. Most companies will provide travel expenses, so spend some time on the road. Worth it too.

In terms of housing, international student dormitories are generally 30%-40% more expensive than ordinary rentals. If you are looking for one, it is recommended to rent with a few classmates you trust. Large houses are cheaper and they can help each other in life (friends are very important in Japan). It is recommended that you go to Urayasu City in neighboring Chiba Prefecture to look for it. It is only 1 stop away by train, so it is very close. And Chiba Prefecture is not included in Tokyo, so the price is lower than Tokyo.

I said a lot without realizing it. . . . . Hope this helps. I wish you success in studying abroad.
