The most suitable free scenic spots for a one-day tour in Shantou are Green Bay, Zhongshan Park, Temple of Heaven Garden and Stone Battery Park.

Green Bay 1

Green Bay is praised as "Oriental Hawaii" by tourists at home and abroad. The roads around the island extend in all directions, with lush trees and pleasant climate. It is a famous tourist attraction in eastern Guangdong, especially the natural bathing beach, which has no silt, pollution and waves, even worse than "Hawaii".

2. Zhongshan Park

The foundation stone of Zhongshan Park was laid in Shantou on 15 (1926) in the Republic of China. Two years later, it was completed and opened on August 28th (1928). It is the oldest and largest comprehensive park in Shantou and one of the new eight scenic spots in Shantou. The park is surrounded by water, and the three garden buildings in the park, namely archway, rockery and zigzag bridge, are known as the "three wonders" in the park.

3. Temple of Heaven Garden

Tiantan Garden is located in Haojiang District, adjacent to Zhuishi Scenic Area, a religious scenic spot in eastern Guangdong. Tiantan Garden was initiated by Hong Kong resident Chen Xiqian and other overseas Chinese, and donated huge sums of money. The famous scenic spots in the park include Baihuajian Temple, Jiutian Temple and Ten Thousand Buddha Pagoda, which have unique cape scenery.

4. Si Tong Battery Park

Stone Fort Park was built in Tongzhi of Qing Dynasty for thirteen years and has a history of more than one hundred years.
