Dongting Dongshan, also known as Dongting Mountain, is located in Wuzhong, Suzhou. Dongshan, also known as Dongting Dongshan, is about 2 hours' drive from downtown Suzhou. It is a peninsula that extends into Taihu Lake and governs several small islands in Taihu Lake. You must see the foggy lake and taste the fresh water. The scenic spots on the island are mainly ancient buildings, which are more fun and suitable for older tourists.

Among the main scenic spots in Dongshan, except Sanshan Island, which is an isolated island that must be reached by boat, the others are all on Dongshan Peninsula. On the west side of the peninsula, there are peaks dominated by Moli Peak, surrounded by scenic spots and mountain roads, and the tour route is circular. At the bus stop of Dongshan Post Sub-office in the center of dongshan town, you can take bus No.629 around the north half ring road and bus No.627 around the south half ring road. Houses with white walls and black tiles and big fruit trees can be seen everywhere on both sides of the road. Road 629 runs along Taihu Lake, with picturesque scenery all the way. The night in Dongshan is very quiet. The surrounding mountain roads are like jade belts on Taihu Lake. Rows of street lamps and small lights of houses at the foot of Qingshan Mountain are projected into Taihu Lake, which is another scenery.

If you want to go to more scenic spots, it is recommended to buy a Dongshan joint ticket, which is very cost-effective and valid for 2 days. You can swim Dongshan in one day without going to Sanshan Island, which means you are in a hurry. It's best to arrange it for two days. If you go to Sanshan Island, you'd better arrange three days, one night in Dongshan Peninsula and one night in Sanshan Island. There are many farmhouses in Dongshan Peninsula and Sanshan Island, and the conditions are similar. It is recommended to live in Luxiang Ancient Village of Dongshan Peninsula. The ancient village is the midpoint of the ring road and the intersection of 627 and 629 roads; Choose your favorite accommodation on Sanshan Island.

Don't forget to taste the special food of the local farmhouse. White fish, whitebait and white shrimp in Taihu Lake are all delicious, and you can also eat hairy crabs in Taihu Lake in autumn. Dongshan has different green products in four seasons. Biluochun tea in April, loquat in May and orange in autumn are the most famous. Vendors can often be seen on the roadside and at the entrance of scenic spots.

After arriving in Dongshan on the first day, you can visit the Seventh Courtyard (Jiayuan), which is a typical Suzhou garden. Liu Yijing and Kangxi planted Yangmei and Royal Pier as "three treasures". The biggest feature is that it is merged into Taihu Lake, and the Royal Pier extends into Taihu Lake. Then half a circle north of Huanshan Road leads to Luxiang Ancient Village. The Sanpailou, built in Ming Dynasty to flaunt Wang Song's understanding, meeting and exploring flowers, is the landmark of ancient villages, and almost all the houses as scenic spots have beautiful small gardens. In the evening, you can go to the Taihu fishing village opposite the ancient village, see the fishing boats in the harbor and see the sunset on Taihu Lake.

The next day, walk half a circle south to Zijin 'an, and pass Xuanyuan Palace, Mingshantang and Yangwan Ancient Village in turn. If I have enough time, I can travel. The attraction of Jin Dian lies in the colorful and lifelike clay sculptures of Luohan Hall with a long history. In the temple, you can eat vegetarian food for lunch. Then go to the carved buildings everywhere, remember to pay attention to hidden walls, treasure houses and locate lotus flowers. Visitors with children, if their children are not interested in cultural attractions, may wish to climb the mountain in Yuhua Scenic Area not far from the watchtower. From there, it takes at least an hour to walk to the top of Sen Mountain, where you can overlook Taihu Lake.
