Chengdu*** has two airports: Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (opening on November 3, 2020; expected to be open to traffic in July 2021)

Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport: The airport is located in Shuangliu County, southwest of Chengdu City, about 16 kilometers away from Chengdu City. It has two terminals and is one of the eight regional hub airports in China. It has opened more than 300 routes. On the underground floor of the second terminal of Shuangliu Airport, there is the Shuangliu Airport Station of the "Cheng-Mian-Le Intercity Railway".

The airport has multiple airport buses that can reach the urban area. The train numbers are as follows:

Airport Line 1:

Shuangliu International Airport - Section 2 of Renmin South Road (next to Minshan Hotel): Fare: 10 yuan. (6:30-05:30 the next day)

Section 2 of Renmin South Road (Minshan Hotel) - Shuangliu International Airport: fare is 10 yuan. (6:00-22:00)

Airport Line 2:

There are four railway stations in Chengdu, namely: Chengdu Railway Station (Chengdu North Railway Station), Chengdu East Railway Station, Chengdu South Railway Station, and Chengdu West Railway Station.

Chengdu Station

Chengdu Station, also known as Chengdu North Railway Station, is located in the north of Chengdu City and mainly serves ordinary trains. Chengdu Metro Line 1 and Line 7 have stations here.

Chengdu East Railway Station

Chengdu East Railway Station mainly handles most of the intercity trains and high-speed EMU trains in Chengdu. From the East Station, it takes 2 hours to reach Chongqing. It takes 2 hours to reach Guiyang and Xi'an. Chengdu Metro Line 2 and Line 7 have stations here.

Chengdu South Railway Station

Chengdu South Railway Station undertakes the operation of the Chengdu-Kunming Railway and the Chengdu-Mianle Intercity Railway. From Chengdu South Railway Station, you can reach Leshan and Emeishan. Chengdu Metro Line 1 and Line 7 have stations here.

Chengdu West Railway Station

Chengdu West Railway Station is the starting station of the future Sichuan-Tibet Railway. Friends going to Ya'an can take the train here. Chengdu Metro Line 4 has a station here.

Arrival and Departure - Long-distance Bus

Chengdu is the largest highway hub in southwest China. There are many long-distance bus stations in Chengdu urban area, which send buses to different directions. Among them, the ones commonly used for tourism are Chengbei Passenger Transport Center, Beimen Bus Station, Chengdu Bus Terminal (Wuguiqiao Bus Station), International Trade City Passenger Transport Station, Xinnanmen Station (Tourist Passenger Transport Center), Chadianzi Passenger Transport Station, and Zhaojue Temple bus station.

Chengbei Passenger Transport Center: There are buses bound for eastern Sichuan and northern Sichuan to Nanchong, Bazhong, Dazhou and other places.

Beimen Bus Station (Liangjiaxiang Bus Station): Mainly serves buses to some cities in southern Sichuan.

Chengdu Bus Terminal (Wuguiqiao Bus Station): Mainly bound for Chengdu-Chongqing and Neiyi Expressway, including Chongqing, Yibin, Zigong, Nanning, Guilin, Fuling, etc.

International Trade City Passenger Terminal (formerly Hehuachi Passenger Terminal): mainly serves routes along the Chengdu-Chongqing Line, Southern Sichuan Line, and Eastern Sichuan Line.

Xinnanmen Station (Chengdu Tourism Distribution Center): It mainly provides tourist lines to the surrounding areas of Chengdu, as well as famous scenic spots and earthquake sites in Sichuan.

Chadianzi Passenger Terminal: It mainly serves Tibetan areas and famous scenic spots in western and northern Sichuan.

Zhaojue Temple Bus Station: Chengdu Zhaojue Temple Bus Station is the first-class passenger terminal out of Chengdu to the north of Sichuan. Self-driving

It is also a good choice to drive to Jiuzhaigou from Chengdu. There are two routes to and from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou: the east route and the west route.

Western route: Chengdu - Dujiangyan - Wenchuan - Maoxian - Songpan - Chuanzhu Temple - Jiuzhaigou. About 430 kilometers. Traveling along the Minjiang River and passing through five counties along the way, you can enjoy the Tibetan and Qiang ethnic customs and primitive ecological scenery.

Eastern route: Chengdu-Guanghan-Deyang-Mianyang-Jiangyou-Pingwu-Jiuzhaigou County-Jiuzhaigou. About 520 kilometers.

The expressway is longer than the west line, about 170 kilometers. The vegetation along the way is very good, and it goes up the Fujiang River with beautiful mountains and clear waters. The journey time for the East-West Loop Line is similar, about 9-10 hours. It is recommended not to take the same route for the round trip, otherwise you will miss a lot of scenery along the way.

Chengdu’s subway network is also very developed, and you can reach many scenic spots by taking the subway.
