World War II Memorial City

Taierzhuang Ancient City is the first World War II memorial city in China and the first cross-strait exchange base in China. After the reconstruction, Taierzhuang Ancient City and Warsaw became the only two cities in the world that were rebuilt as world cultural heritage because of the artillery damage in World War II.

The Battle of Taierzhuang, which took place in late March of 1938, was the first great victory in China's frontal battlefield against Japan, so Taierzhuang was praised by the world as "the unyielding land of the Chinese nation".

As early as 1992, the Taierzhuang District Government allocated 30 million yuan to build the War Memorial Hall in half a year. 1996, the memorial hall was designated by six ministries as one of the national 100 demonstration bases for patriotism education. In 2007, the memorial hall was incorporated into the patriotic education base managed by the central government.

Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, is the second World War II memorial city. Seventy years ago, China's army accepted the Japanese surrender in Bating Square in the center of ha noi, which was also the only place where China's army surrendered overseas in World War II.

1August 945 15, Japan announced its unconditional surrender. According to the division of surrender areas in the general order 1 issued by the Allied General Command on September 2, China's army undertook the task of surrendering and receiving Japanese troops in the Vietnamese area north of 16 degrees north latitude.

From the end of 1944, the Japanese invaders forcibly expropriated the grain of Vietnamese farmers and forced them to replace their own rice with other cash crops needed by the Japanese army, which led to a serious famine in Vietnam. According to a survey co-sponsored by Vietnamese historian Wen Zao and Professor Gutian Wei Yuan of Tokyo University, more than 2 million people died in this famine.

195 1 year, Vietnam set up a memorial platform for people who died of famine. On the platform, the words "in memory of compatriots who died of famine" are written, and there are incense tables and sacrifices in front of them. On the stone wall next to the platform, there are eulogies left by celebrities.

Extended data:

The Second World War launched by Japanese militarism and German fascism is the darkest and saddest page in human history, which has brought unprecedented catastrophe to the cause of peace and development of all mankind, and its aggression and barbarism have reached the peak.

War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, a native of China, started with the Japanese invasion of Northeast China in 193 1 year, which lasted for 14 years, with the longest duration, 35 million casualties and the heaviest national sacrifice. War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression in China is an important part of the world anti-fascist war.

In the main battlefield of the East in World War II, the China * * * Production Party led the people of China, persisted in the all-round war of resistance, opened up a vast battlefield behind enemy lines, United the broad anti-Japanese patriotic forces and people, and established the broadest anti-Japanese national united front. The battlefield in China effectively resisted and contained the main forces of Japanese militarism.

The supreme leader of the Soviet Union at that time said that only by tying the hands and feet of the Japanese aggressors could the Soviet Union avoid fighting on two fronts once the German aggressors attacked the Soviet Union.

This shows the extreme importance of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the people of China, in containing Japanese militaristic forces, responding to and supporting the military actions of European and Pacific allies strategically, and making indelible historical contributions to the overall victory of the world anti-fascist war.
