Shooting skills of party photos
1. Small aperture and continuous shooting mode shooting.
When taking a group photo, in order to ensure that everyone's face is clear and sharp, don't forget to narrow the aperture and try to shoot between f/8- 13. The aperture is too large, which may make some people's faces empty. Once again, continuous shooting mode is recommended, because many people will inevitably encounter blinking, improper movements or weird facial expressions. So, take more photos of continuous shooting, and then choose the one that is most satisfactory. If unfortunately there is no most satisfactory, at least there are materials to splicing.
2. Pay attention to the height difference between the characters to avoid the face being blocked.
This is the most basic composition method in group portrait shooting, especially when shooting family portraits. If you find that your child is almost the same height and your parents are much taller, you may wish to use the standing posture shown below to make the shooting effect look more natural and relaxed. In the case that the height of the subject is not much different, if you can stand on the uneven ground such as stairs and slopes, you can of course achieve the effect relatively simply. If you stand on the flat ground to shoot, you can ask the people in the front row to squat or squat if necessary, so that the tall people standing behind can also show their faces completely. Before you press the shutter, you'd better scan it again to see if all faces can be seen.
Although the composition of everyone standing in a row is also good, if there is a height gap, the picture will be more layered.
Stairs, slopes and other places with little difference in height are good choices for group shooting.
3. Let the subject naturally put down the performance.
If you think that the group photo is too rigid, natural and open composition is a good choice, but it tests the photographer's guiding ability. If you meet a subject who likes to try different shooting styles, the photographer can use all his imagination and break away from the shackles of tradition. Let everyone rush to the camera, jump on the beach, walk home from school, have a group meeting and so on.
Pay attention to the light
In the light part, if you shoot outdoors, of course, you should avoid the environment with strong sunlight. On the one hand, it is easy to leave unnatural shadows on people's faces, on the other hand, high temperature is easy to make the subjects feel tired or heatstroke. If shooting indoors, inexperienced friends may choose to set up a shed lamp, but this will often cause people close to the lamp to be too bright and those far away from the lamp to be underexposed. The shed lamp is too close to the subject, which will cause the shadow to reflect on the person next door. If you want to take indoor group portraits, please use more than one shed lamp to ensure that the amount of light on everyone is uniform. Furthermore, the position of the shed lamp should be placed near the camera and keep a certain distance from the subject.
5. Let everyone look familiar.
There is often a state of "giving and receiving" when taking a group photo, which is better in family photos, but such embarrassing scenes often appear when taking a group photo of a company or a student. At first, everyone stood very open, which made the picture look loose and had no sense of team. In this case, the photographer needs to adjust. If you have enough time, you can use some simple group games to reduce the embarrassment between photographers before shooting.
If the distance between people is too large, sometimes the picture will appear loose and not compact.
6. Show the photographer's confidence and professionalism
It is normal for many people to get together to take pictures. Photographers should control the scene with professional vision and self-confidence. Tell everyone how to stand, where to stand, who wants to change places with whom, who wants to move forward and so on. Guide everyone into the shooting state, saving them time to argue.
7. Use triangle composition skills
Triangular composition is a common composition criterion in photographic painting composition, which is not only useful in shooting objects, but also very practical in group portraits. You can learn from the face of the employer to make a triangular composition or the standing posture of the employer to make a triangular team.
Whether in photography or painting, triangle composition is a good composition method.
8. Vividness of holding the ball
When shooting group portraits, trying some dynamic postures can really make the photos look vivid, but while pursuing natural dynamics, we should also consider safety factors, especially when there are children in the subject. If the action is difficult for the child, it may not only cause strange picture effects (the child's expression is struggling, etc.), but also cause the danger of injury.
Sometimes it is too intense or not suitable for children's movements, which may cause strange facial expressions of the characters.
