Has Guangxi Lingqu been selected as "World Irrigation Project Heritage"?

On August 13th, 218, four projects, including Lingqu, were selected into the World Heritage List of Irrigation Projects in 218 (the fifth batch).

Lingqu, which was called Qin's cut canal, zero canal, Douhe River, Xing 'an Canal and Xianggui Canal in ancient times, was a great project created by working people in China. Located in xing an, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, it was opened to navigation in 214 BC. Lingqu flows from east to west, connecting Haiyang River in the east of xing an (the source of Xiangjiang River, flowing from south to north) and Darongjiang River in the west of xing an (the source of Lijiang River, flowing from north to south). It is one of the oldest canals in the world and has the reputation of "the pearl of ancient water conservancy buildings in the world".

The main project of Lingqu is composed of spout, big balance, small balance, south channel, north channel, drainage balance, culvert, steep gate, weir dam, Qin dike and bridge. Although the construction time is different, they are interrelated and become an indispensable part of Lingqu.
