Can "zero tickets" in Henan, Zhejiang and other scenic spots change the tourism development model?

Since the beginning of this year, Baiyun Mountain in Henan, Tiantai Mountain in Zhejiang, Ningxia, Anhui and other scenic spots have implemented time-limited or permanent free tickets, which has driven local summer tours to heat up. Experts pointed out that with the arrival of the era of global tourism, getting rid of the "ticket dependence" in scenic spots is the general trend to achieve sustainable development, and avoiding attracting more tourists by means of benefiting the people and upgrading services.

Songxian County, Luoyang, Henan Province, the first batch of national global tourism demonstration zones, recently announced that all A-level scenic spots in Songxian County will be free of tickets in September, including Baiyun Mountain in 5A scenic spot and Muzhaling scenic spot in 4A scenic spot from September 10 to September 30. However, Tianchi Mountain in 4A scenic spot and Wolong Valley in 3A scenic spot are free throughout September.

Some scenic spots are directly free of tickets, and some are free of high-speed fees to attract tourists. In August this year, Luanchuan County, Henan Province ushered in a wave of tourism peaks. This is due to Luanchuan's first implementation of the activity of "Traveling on the Road in Luanchuan, Free in expressway" this year: minibuses that get off at the exit of expressway in this county are exempted from the expressway toll in the province.

"For 20 consecutive days, 14 beds are full every day." Xu Haiqun, who lives in Xiexin Village, Wan Tao Town, Luanchuan County, Henan Province, is happy to talk about his farmhouse business. In 20 days, nearly 200,000 A-type buses enjoyed the local high-speed free policy. The Xu family charges 40 yuan for each bed, plus the tourists' meals, and the gross income per day is more than 1000 yuan. In 20 days, Luanchuan County received 1 1 10000 person-times, setting a record for the reception of a single event in the county.

"Free tickets in scenic spots seem to be doing a loss-making business, but in fact it shows a new idea of tourism development." Duan Xibo, director of Songxian Tourism Bureau, said that in recent years, Songxian proposed a new concept of "5A Songxian" global tourism, and the tourism industry ushered in a stage of rapid development. "Use a free ticket to incite the global tourism upgrade model and boost the development of the entire tertiary industry."

Experts believe that with the rapid development of tourism economy today, "zero tickets" should become one of the important ways to promote the development of global tourism economy. However, from a national perspective, there are not many scenic spots that adopt the "zero ticket" model, and some scenic spots also limit time or crowds. Due to the different development stages and endowments of scenic spots around the country, it is not yet possible to fully promote free tickets.

Experts believe that "zero vote" is not a simple abstention. Liu Simin, a special researcher at the Tourism Research Center of China Academy of Social Sciences, believes that the radiation effect brought by free scenic spots is closely related to the urban taste and characteristics of the city where the scenic spots are located. After free, scenic spots and relevant departments should also do a good job of linkage to ensure that the quality of tourism services will not decline after free, and ensure the safe and orderly reception work.

The cancellation of tickets in scenic spots is intended to attract tourists, extend the itinerary, and then promote the industrial development in the chain of transportation, catering, shopping and accommodation. Sacrificing' small profits' is to make a big cake, but how to divide the big cake is the key. Duan Xibo believes that sustainable development can be better realized through efforts to build a good benefit distribution mechanism for local governments, scenic spots and local entrepreneurs.
