Dashan Town (located in the south of Panxian County, Guizhou Province) is responding to the call of Panxian County Government to adjust the industrial structure and understanding the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 17th CPC Central Committee, and is vigorously developing tourism resources. Dashan town has both the commonness of western towns and its own characteristics. Using SWOT analysis method to analyze the development of local tourism is of great significance to the decision-making of government leaders. This paper makes a SWOT analysis on the development of tourism in Dashan town, and on this basis, puts forward some suggestions on developing rural tourism.
