The Red History of Yaoluoping

Yaoluoping is also a famous revolutionary base, where the former Red Army 25 and Red Army 28 were stationed. Under the leadership of Gao Jingting, they carried out quite effective revolutionary struggles in Dabie Mountains, containing nearly 40 divisions of the Kuomintang army. It is far away from yingshan county, Hubei Province, and is known as the Red Yaoluoping.

According to the instruction letter left by the provincial party committee before the Long March,1In February, 935, Gao Jingting, member of the Standing Committee of the provincial party committee and secretary of the Northwest Anhui Road Committee, rebuilt the Red 28th Army in Liang Ting 'ao, Yuexi County, and continued to adhere to the armed struggle in Dabie Mountain area. 1June, 935, the west Anhui Special Committee moved to Yaoluoping. Soon, Gao Jingting led the Red 18 Army into Yaoluoping on the way to establish guerrilla base areas. Yaoluoping gradually became the base camp and central guerrilla base of the Red 28th Army in the three-year guerrilla war in Hubei, Henan and Anhui. During the three-year guerrilla war in the south, Hubei, Henan and Anhui were one of the guerrilla areas that preserved the most revolutionary forces.

After the outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression,1July, 937, according to the spirit of the document of the Central Committee on the establishment of an anti-Japanese national United front, the Red 28th Army and the Kuomintang military and political authorities reached an agreement in Yuexi County to stop the civil war and unite against Japan. 1In August, 937, Gao Jingting led the 28th Red Army to leave Yaoluoping, and later reorganized it into the fourth detachment of the New Fourth Army, which became an important force to persist in the war of resistance behind enemy lines.

In order to carry forward the great achievements of the Red 28 th Army in persisting in guerrilla warfare for three years in Hubei, Henan and Anhui, revolutionary tradition and patriotism education were carried out. At the beginning of 2007, the scenic spot started construction, and Nie Jia's old house, the former residence of Gao Jingting, political commissar of the Red 28 Army, located in Dongchong Formation, Yaoluoping Village, Jiabao Town, Yuexi County, Anqing City, was restored. The trench behind the house has been repaired, and the exhibition hall and central square of the Red 28 th Army have also been built. In July 2008, the project was completed and opened to the public in April 2009.

In 2006, the former military and political site of the 28th Army in Yaoluoping was listed as one of the national 100 red tourism classic scenic spots, which is an important base for carrying out revolutionary tradition and patriotism education.
