Is Shanghai Disneyland a state-owned enterprise or a foreign enterprise?
It is not a state-owned enterprise or a foreign enterprise, and it belongs to the joint venture model. Shanghai Disneyland is jointly invested, constructed and operated by the state-owned Shendi Group and Walter Disney Company. Among them, Shendi Tourism holds 57% and Disney holds 43%. Shendi Tourism is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shanghai Shendi (Group) Co., Ltd., which is a new functional state-owned enterprise approved by Shanghai Municipal Government. Although Walter Disney Company is a foreign-funded enterprise, in the joint venture mode of Shanghai Disneyland, it is only one of the investors and cooperates with Shendi Group.
