Fanchang’s folk customs

The folk customs in Fanchang County are honest and honest, and the people are hardworking and simple. Thousands of years of feudal system and many customs bear the mark of the times. 1. Farming Customs

Seed soaking usually starts around the Qingming Festival. Two days after the rice seeds are soaked, water is placed in the rice basket to germinate, and willow branches are inserted, which is called "Banqing" is used to hope that the rice will germinate vigorously and eliminate insect pests. After the rice goes to the fields, willow branches are inserted next to the rice fields, praying that no moss will grow on them. After the rice goes to the fields, several kilograms of rice buds are left behind to make bud rice cakes. The first time a farmer pulls out seedlings is to "open the seedling gate". When "opening the rice fields", firecrackers are set off first. When pulling out the rice seedlings, the owner goes down to the rice field first and opens the rice seedling gate in the opposite direction of the "Tai Sui" position that year, which means that no earth is broken on the "Tai Sui" head. When pulling rice seedlings for the first time, they must be gentle and avoid making loud splashing noises. Legend has it that the sound of the water is loud, and the "Yang Girl" thinks that the person pulling out the rice seedlings has fallen, so she will come to help him. With a little help, the person pulling out the rice seedlings will be pinched and swollen by the "rice girl" and will not be able to plant the rice seedlings for a long time.
