Where is the Daxinganling?

Mangui

Neighbor to Mohe, Mangui is the end point of the Yalin Line. It is also the northeasternmost town in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, where you can cross to Mohe in the Northeast. But if you choose to take the train, you can only take 4181 to Ituri River and then transfer to Jiagdaqi, and then transfer to the train to Mohe. The distance is more than 900 kilometers, but if you choose to take the bus directly from Mangui to Northeast China Crossing the Daxingan Mountains, you can reach Mohe in 3 hours.

The coldest town in China--Huzhong

The red willow plant is very interesting. It is distributed over a wide span. It can grow in Southeast Asia to the south and as far north as Siberia. In China, it mainly grows in the Greater and Lesser Khingan Mountains and Changbai Mountains. If you search for red willow on the Internet, you will find a place called Huzhong, which is known as the hometown of red willow, so I chose that place for my shooting.

The plan was very good. I rushed over to take photos as soon as the ice melted, but I didn’t expect that Huzhong is such a remote place. Judging from the map, it is located in a blind spot in the northern part of the Daxingan Mountains. No matter where you go, you can easily bypass it. It is not as convenient as getting to Mohe. Huzhong was originally connected by train, but it was discontinued a few years ago. Therefore, in addition to driving, you can only reach Huzhong by bus from Jiagedaqi or Mohe, and there are only two buses a day. But it was precisely this remote nook and corner that aroused my curiosity. Even if it wasn’t for Red Willow, I wanted to take a look at what this small town in the deepest part of the Greater Khingan Mountains looked like.
