Tourist guide to Hekou ancient town

Hekou ancient town is an ancient town with great historical charm. It is a place where eight provinces meet. Businessmen from every province need to get through this place and then spread to other parts of the country. Therefore, the economy here has been relatively prosperous since ancient times. This is the tour guide of Hekou ancient town.

Hekou Town, one of the four famous towns in ancient Jiangxi Province, is located in Qianshan County (now the seat of Qianshan County).

I have been longing for it for a long time. I have been driving for seven or eight kilometers from Hengfeng in Qian Shan along the Shanghai-Kunming Expressway.

I'm completely uninterested in almost the same modern city. I navigated directly to the ancient city.

In ancient times, to become an important commercial port, you had to have unique water transportation.

Hekou Town, which passes around the city, is Xinjiang, one of the five major rivers in Jiangxi. The source of this river is Huaiyushan at the junction of Jiangxi and Zhejiang (Qiantang River is the water system from Yushan to Zhejiang) and Wuyishan at the junction with Fujian. Hekou Town is located at the intersection of Xinjiang and Mutong River.

On the right is Mutong River, and on the left is Xinjiang.

After the confluence of the two rivers, the river surface is wide and the water flow is gentle, forming a unique natural wharf.

The river is wide and clear.

Hekou Town is located two kilometers downstream of the intersection of two rivers. The ancient town can be traced back to 1000 years ago, but it was born in the Song Dynasty. The government of the Northern Song Dynasty set up a copper and lead factory (with a national foundry) here with a population of 654.38 million!

By the Ming Dynasty, the paper industry here had become famous all over the country, and it was one of the five handicraft bases in China at that time (similar to today's special economic zones).

Make the real ancient town an important town in ancient China, or an important distribution center and transit port for goods in eight provinces from the middle of the Ming Dynasty to the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. (The Ganjiang River downstream of Poyang Lake can reach Guangdong, the waterway built by the river can reach Hunan and Hubei, and the goods entering the Yangtze River through Poyang Lake can reach the whole country. At the peak, there were more than 20 halls under construction in various places.

Fujian club

There are more than 2,000 shops in all walks of life, which are called "endless estuary, endless Hankou". Fujian's tea is sold to Europe, with a distance of 13,000 miles.

These four words are witnessed by history.

Now we can witness the history of ancient streets in Ming and Qing dynasties here. Ancient streets are built from east to west along the south bank of Xinjiang. The whole complex is divided into three castles, nine alleys and thirteen streets. There is a canal in this ancient city to draw water from the upper reaches of the Mu Tong River.

The stone piers of the bridge are also very distinctive.

Only now this is the sewer of this city, and the dirty tap water is really unsightly.

The street is about three meters wide, with bluestone strips in the middle and granite stones on both sides, and the stone surface is covered with ruts of different shades.

Traces of time

Enough to see its prosperous history.

This ancient street is 2.5 kilometers long and divided into one, two and three castles. Now we

Only one or two castles can be seen, and three castles (about 1.3 km) have been completely destroyed and demolished.

But this is the best preserved ancient street of Ming and Qing Dynasties in Jiangxi.
