Domestic Tourism: "Qu Yuan" in Suzhou —— Feel the freedom and freedom of literati.
"Its shape is curved, hence the name Qu Yuan." It seems that this quadrangle is not as prosperous and magnificent as expected, but very simple and casual. Just like the name given to it by the owner of the courtyard, it is free and unrestrained, and there is no feeling in the scenery that literati have always admired at that time. The small courtyard contains deep feelings and ambitions. However, it is such a simple and casual garden that brings the world a unique experience of private gardens and feels the indifferent, quiet and distant feelings and yearning of the owner of this garden. The owner of the garden seems to have completely abandoned his official career, but he feels a detached nature and casualness in his heart. He chats and entertains himself in the fields of Xiaotian, enjoying the free and easy of Nanshan. Today, we are going to visit Quyuan Garden in Suzhou, and feel another style of Suzhou gardens, and feel the freedom of literati at that time in a small garden.
When I first heard about Qu Yuan, I thought it was a very simple theater. At that time, people's entertainment life was very monotonous, and the Western District became a very important leisure and entertainment activity for people at that time. At that time, the very important opera form in Suzhou was Kunqu Opera, so I thought Qu Yuan was the Kunqu Opera Garden in Suzhou. Now I really understand Qu Yuan. I understand that it is a small garden which is a combination of ordinary houses and classical gardens. The owner of the garden is Yu Yue, a famous writer and phonologist in the late Qing Dynasty. He was born in Deqing County, Zhejiang Province, and worked as an official in his hometown. However, years of war and war made him resign early and came to Suzhou to avoid the war disaster. He also built Qu Yuan, which he sees now, on a few acres of wasteland in the west of Pan's former residence in Suzhou at that time. Qu Yuan is not as famous as other private gardens in Suzhou, but he has his own style and charm. I have visited almost half of Suzhou's garden landscape, and I have a panoramic view of Lingering Garden, Humble Administrator's Garden and Lion Garden, so I chose to come to Quyuan this time to feel the elegance of Su's small garden.
Qu Yuan is located at the western end of Mayi Lane, Renmin Road, Suzhou. Built in the 13th year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty, it covers an area of about three acres. Although the garden is small, it is well organized, especially its ingenious shape like a ruler and the word "Qu" in seal script. When it was first built, Yu Yue, the owner of the garden, dug ponds and piled stones, planted grass and trees, and cultivated exotic flowers and grasses according to the "curved" terrain here. The word "Qu" is not only the topography of this garden, but also a very meaningful sentence in Laozi's Tao Te Ching: "Qu is complete." This reflects a sense of haste makes waste. At that time, many people hid their sharpness. In that treacherous period, it is more important to protect yourself and look for opportunities in hibernation. Instead of showing your sharpness too much, it will be broken prematurely. Yu Yue is also an explanation, a kind of self-comfort, which is not only an account of his own behavior, but also contains the hope and ambition to go out again.
When I came to Qu Yuan, the first thing I saw was Qu Yuan's traditional Soviet-style gatehouse, an indigo-built gatehouse, which stood quietly here. It looks very bright and beautiful, and it doesn't seem to have withstood a hundred years of wind, frost, rain and snow. This is not only the care of the garden owner, but also the repair and protection of Qu Yuan by the local government. Through Qu Yuan's gatehouse, you can see a patio with slender bamboo planted inside, creating a very fresh and elegant environment and atmosphere. At that time, Meiju was the place that best implied the noble character and lofty aspirations of literati. They always plant these plants in their own gardens, and care for them as they care for themselves, and never slacken off. They will also embroider these patterns of plum, orchid, bamboo and chrysanthemum on their collars and cuffs to remind them of their love and loyalty to the cultivation of character and noble quality. Qu Yuan also revealed Yu Yue's feelings and thoughts when he left his hometown, so as to express his feelings and qualities of being unwilling to do as the Romans do. Behind the bamboo and patio is Qu Yuan's small bamboo building, which is a small house with window frames, door frames and various columns painted scarlet. It is quiet and elegant. There is an exquisite handmade palace lantern hanging in the four corners of the room, which looks very chic. The portrait of Yu Yue, the owner of the garden, and his own poems are hung on the front wall of Xiaozhuliguan, which fills a small world with poetic fragrance.
Through a hall in Xiaozhu Liguan, we came to Chunzai Hall, the main building of Qu Yuan. This is still a bright and spacious main hall, with a set of bedding against the wall in the middle, and a couplet on the wall behind the bedding, all written by Yu Yue himself. There is a set of tables and chairs on the desktop, on which Yu Yue's Four Treasures of the Study and various book rubbings were also displayed. The whole exhibition in Chuntang is very simple. It is a special study in Yu Yue, but the name of this study is well-founded. It is said that Yu Yue wrote a poem with the theme "Flowers are still in spring" when he entered Beijing and entered the palace for the exam, which was appreciated by Zeng Guofan, the examiner, and was among the best. The word "in spring" in "Flowers are still in spring" is adopted in Spring Hall, which shows Yu Yue's appreciation and pride in his talent.
In the backyard of Chuntang, there is a small garden. There is a deep and beautiful promenade along the pond in the small garden. Sitting in the promenade in hot summer, you can hear frogs in the pool, the breeze blowing and the water waves are quiet. It is also a very elegant and comfortable thing. There is a clear water under the garden corridor. The water is as clear as a mirror, and it is called a curved pool. It is also because this clear water is built along the tortuous terrain. Yu Yue personally chiseled the pool and piled stones, creating such a tactfully long pool of water. To the east of Qushui Lake, there is a rockery. There are many flowers and stones on the mountain, and the momentum is extraordinary. This is a very elegant rockery landscape. These landscapes of Qu Yuan vividly show the layout, structure and charm of Soviet-style gardens. Although heaven and earth are only three acres, sparrows are small and complete. All of them show the amorous feelings and charm of Suzhou garden landscape, and also show the intelligence and ingenuity of Yu Yue, the owner of Qu Yuan's garden, and his ingenuity in garden art ... Curved elbows, deep valleys, elegant bamboo forests, naturally very rare and charming Jiangnan amorous feelings. Walking on Qu Yuan's promenade, you can feel Yu Yue's painstaking love for this small world, and you can appreciate the beauty and charm conveyed by this beautiful and rich treasure land of Zhong Ling.
