The next day we went to Chaka Salt Lake, which is the "Mirror of the Sky" circulated on the Internet. I was unlucky, it was raining, it was very cold, and the lake was covered with fog, so I couldn’t take any pictures. It's a pity.

Chayan Lake will be sunny, but it depends on luck. Later I went to Emerald Lake, Zhuoer Mountain, Qilian Prairie, and tens of thousands of acres of rapeseed flowers in Menyuan. Emerald Lake is also a great place to take photos, and you can also see the Sky Mirror.

Zhuoer Mountain is known as "Little Switzerland of the East". The scenery is very layered and is very suitable for painting or taking pictures.

You can ride horses and shoot arrows in the Qilian Prairie to experience the grassland style. Yuanwanmu rapeseed flowers are indeed spectacular, but the flowering time is relatively short, mainly in August.

After seeing the scenery, let’s talk about food and accommodation. Let’s talk about food and accommodation first. The meals at tourist attractions are expensive and unpalatable. Because the rent is expensive, it is a one-time transaction, and the travel agency has a commission, so this situation is inevitable.

If you are greedy, it is recommended to prepare dry food in advance. If you want to stay, it’s best to book online or through a travel agency many days in advance.

Because the housing supply is very tight in the peak season, especially in Heimahe, where we went to Qinghai Lake, and we stayed in Dachaidan on the second day. Because it is a rural town, the housing supply is limited, and the price will be very high in the peak season. You may not book it for less than eight or nine hundred yuan a night. Other accommodations in counties and cities are slightly better, but it is best to book in advance to avoid overpriced accommodation.

Safety and health are also important. The next day we went to Qinghai Lake to play. My son suffered from altitude sickness, vomited and lacked energy. My wife and I were anxious. I gave him some digestive medicine and Huoxiang Zhengqi water. After a few days, the altitude dropped a little, and he felt energetic.

Qinghai Lake, Chaka Salt Lake, and Emerald Lake are relatively high in altitude and may cause some altitude sickness, but generally it is not a big problem. Another disadvantage of these places is that they are relatively cold, with large temperature differences between day and night, so bathing is not recommended. It's easy to catch a cold, but not easy to get better.

Safety issues should also be emphasized. There are three ways to visit Qinghai:

One is with a group, one is by chartered car, and the other is by self-driving.

Self-driving is not recommended because the road conditions in Qinghai are complicated. It's either a straight road or a winding mountain road. Unfamiliar drivers are prone to problems. We had two rollovers on the road. For the first time in our lives, we saw it live. So tragic. 4 people died on the spot.

So it is recommended that you either join a group or charter a car. The disadvantage of traveling in a group is that the time is fixed and there is no freedom. The charter time can be arranged by yourself.
