Where is Mahu Scenic Area?

There is a turtle-shaped island in the middle of Mahu Lake, called Scarabaga Island. There is Menghuotang, the only Yi temple in China. Zhou Dong is a natural dam with mixed mud and stones in the west and south, commonly known as "the treasure of the sea". The lake is clear and transparent. In spring and summer, peach blossoms are red along the coast, pear blossoms are like snow, blue waves are boating in the lake, and wild ducks are playing in the water. In winter, the peaks are covered with silver makeup, and the blue waves of Mahu Lake are rippling, which is just suitable for Ning Jingxian. Natural landscapes include "golden turtles playing in the water" and "the big bay is like the moon". The Jinsha River Gorge is steep, the river is swift, the cliffs are towering, and the rocks are like forests, which is extremely steep. Yi people live in this area, which is a village with national characteristics and historical and cultural relics, adding interest to the scenic spot. Mahu scenic area has a large number of virgin forests, full of towering old trees, vines and lichens, full of simplicity. Mahu Lake has unique scenery and rich products, including fresh bamboo shoots, precious Chinese herbal medicine Mahu Cordyceps, and rare water shield at home and abroad.
