Yishui Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery is located at the foot of Bashan Mountain, 1/3 km northwest of Yishui County, with a total area of 40,000 square meters.
The main buildings in Yishui Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery include the mountain gate, memorial hall, tablet pavilion, revolutionary martyrs memorial tower, anti-Japanese martyrs monument in Gezhuang Campaign, Xianguding Anti-Japanese Martyrs Cemetery, Duigushan Campaign Monument, Xietougu Anti-Japanese Martyrs Monument, Martyrs' Tomb, etc.
The cemetery was built in 1944 and 65438+ February (built by Yi Bei Administrative Office), and the original site is in the north of Hexi Village.
During the construction of Bashan Reservoir from 65438 to 0959, the remains of 220 martyrs in Hexi Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery were moved to the south slope of Bashan.
On this basis, 1960 established the largest martyrs cemetery in Yishui County and renamed it Bashan Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery.
1990 was approved by the Shandong provincial people's government as a provincial-level key revolutionary martyrs memorial building protection unit and renamed Yishui Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery.
Yishui Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery is east-west, backed by lush trees, facing cliffs, steep childless mountains and rolling distant mountains, and on the right is Lushan Reservoir with rippling blue waves and beautiful mountains and rivers. Become a trend of relying on mountains and rivers. The main buildings in the cemetery include gates, exhibition halls, memorial halls, pavilions, memorial towers, tombs of martyrs, etc. The gate is an arched building, with a height of 1 1.4m and a width of 10.4m, with double eaves and resplendence. The white granite lintel is inlaid with eight golden characters of "Yishui Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery" inscribed by former the State Council Vice Premier Zhang Aiping.
Entering the gate, the cemetery management office is on the left and the reception room is on the right. Facing the gate is the 150 steps built on the mountain. Climbing up the stairs, there are 1 tablet pavilions on the left and right sides of the first platform, displaying 32 tablets of the older generation revolutionaries and leaders above the provincial level, such as Guo Hongtao, vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, State Councilor and Minister of National Defense, and former secretary of the Shandong Branch of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. The left and right sides of the second platform are exhibition halls, which were built in 198 1 year and rebuilt in 1994. They are cloister buildings. The museum shows pictures of the people's revolutionary struggle in Yishui and the life stories of martyrs, which is the specific history of the local revolutionary struggle. 25 meters south of the exhibition hall is the revolutionary martyrs memorial hall. Above the third platform are the tombs of famous martyrs with different styles, such as Zheng Zhili, the division commander, Li Qingyi, the technical secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Shi Yulong, the chief of staff of the division (colonel), Su Liquan, the head of the regiment, Zhou Yi, the chief of staff of the regiment, and wang hong, the secretary of the Second Committee. In the pavilions on the left and right sides of the fourth platform, there are inscriptions by former county party secretary, former county party secretary, county magistrate Wang, former county people's congress standing Committee director Ji and former county chairman Lu Xiutian. On the fifth platform, a cemetery and a monument moved from the former Yi Bei Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery (Hexi Village North Cemetery) were placed in the south and north respectively. On the front and back of the tombstone on the north side, four characters of "Martyrs Cemetery" and "Heroic Endurance" are engraved, and the names of 220 martyrs are engraved on the left and right sides. On the south side of the monument, there are four characters "Glory belongs to national history", and the back is engraved. On the top floor of the cemetery stands a monument to revolutionary martyrs, which was completed in August. 1994. Together with the auxiliary monuments on both sides and the martyrs list monument behind them, the monument constitutes a building complex with one monument as the main body and many monuments reflecting each other. The monument is17.5m high. The blue granite pedestal holds up the black marble monument, which is inlaid with seven golden characters of "Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Tower". The auxiliary monument is 4. 1 m high, and there are three monuments of major revolutionary events in Yishui. The list of martyrs is 32 square meters, engraved with 3877 Yishui martyrs and 654 foreign martyrs. The main and auxiliary monuments are mountain-shaped, with winding water under them, symbolizing that martyrs are outstanding children raised by one mountain and one water. Behind the monument is the tomb where the martyrs lie.
