Historical Evolution of Yunnan Lufeng Dinosaur National Geopark

Since 1938, more than 190 pieces of dinosaur fossils and different amounts of ancient fossils such as the skull fossils of Lamaxiros have been unearthed in Lufeng, which has been praised by the academic circles as "the hometown of dinosaurs", "the treasure house of fossils", "the birthplace of Asian human beings" and "the natural museum of nature".

1995, the dinosaur fossil resources excavated by Lao Changqing in Chuanjie Township are rich and unique. According to the speculation of Chinese and foreign experts, it is estimated that there are more than 400 fossils in the area of 10000 square meters, and all of them are revealed in a large cemetery that will bury dinosaurs that shocked the world. Dinosaur Valley was rated as one of the 23 most potential first-choice scenic spots in Yunnan by Chinese and foreign experts. The paleontological tourism resources with dinosaur fossils as the main body are rich in burial, diverse in types and unique in style, which has an irreplaceable position in the national tourism resources and is a world natural heritage with strong scientific research value, popular science value, cultural value and tourism value.

In June 2004, it was listed as a national geological park. In April, it was listed as one of the "six major tourism industry bases" and "eight major tourism construction projects" in Yunnan Province, and it was also listed as a leading project for the key development of cultural tourism industry in Chuxiong Prefecture.

On June 2, 2005, 10, the unveiling ceremony of the monument was held in Lufeng Dinosaur National Geopark, Yunnan. In 2008, it was rated as AAAA-level tourist area and provincial popular science base by the state, and successfully passed the ISO quality/environmental management system certification.

Dinosaur Valley covers an area of 1 km2. The first phase of the core scenic spot will be completed and opened in April 2008 with an investment of 500 million yuan. From the opening of the park in April 2008 to August 2009, * * * received tourists from home and abroad 1 10,000 person-times, achieving a tourism income of 62 million, achieving a double harvest of economic and social benefits.
