Airport Overview Incheon International Airport is the largest civil airport in Korea, which was opened in 200 1 year.

Incheon International Airport is the main hub of Korean Air and Asiana Airlines. 200 1 officially opened at the beginning of the year, replacing the old gimpo international airport as an international route hub. Gimpo Airport is mainly used for domestic flights, except flights to Tokyo International Airport (Haneda Airport) and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport. Incheon International Airport is an aviation hub for international passenger and cargo transportation and the sixth busiest international airport in Asia. According to the survey of Geneva International Airport Association (ACI) from 2006 to 20 12, Incheon International Airport won the first place in the "Best Airport in the World" for seven consecutive years.

Incheon International Airport is located on Yongzong Island on the west side of Incheon, South Korea, near the Yellow Sea. Today's Yongzong Island is actually an artificial island connected by two independent islands, Yongzong Island and Yongyu Island, which were merged into one after reclamation. Both islands are within the administrative scope of Incheon Metropolitan Area, so they are named "Incheon International Airport". In addition to the Yongzong Bridge, which connects the island and the mainland through the national highway 130, ferries also undertake the transportation to and from Incheon. The Incheon Bridge newly built this year connects Yongzong Island and Songdao New District, and vehicles from all over Korea, such as buses, use the two bridges to enter and leave the airport. There is also a shuttle bus from the capital Seoul, which runs every hour. Besides, there are buses along other secondary roads to pick up passengers from Seoul or outside the city to the airport. Expressway connecting Incheon International Airport and Gimpo Airport has also been opened, providing greater convenience for connecting passengers on international and domestic flights. In 2007, Incheon International Airport Railway connected the two airports, and Seoul MRT Line 5 provided services.

Development course 1988 After the Seoul Olympic Games, South Korea's international shipping volume increased dramatically, especially after the 1990s, and there have been many signs that Seoul Gimpo Airport has been unable to cope with the increased shipping volume. Therefore, in order to relieve the pressure on Gimpo Airport, the construction of the new airport was started in June1992165438+10, hoping to become a regional shipping center in the future. Incheon International Airport was built on artificial land reclamation between Yongzong Island and Longyou Island. It took 8 years to build and 6 months for trial operation, and it didn't officially open until March of 200 1 year. The airport is expected to be completed in stages, and the second phase is currently under construction.

After the 200 1 9 1 1 incident, the management upgraded the security system of the airport. In the following years, many infectious diseases broke out in neighboring countries, which also enabled Incheon to strengthen its health inspection equipment. Incheon has also followed the standards recommended by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and more or less added many facilities by itself, which has earned Incheon the reputation of being the most technologically advanced airport in Asia.

Incheon Airport has a good image and won the world's attention, but at the same time, the digital traffic volume has also increased dramatically. In the first half of 2002, many people thought that the airport would reach saturation in 2006, so in February of that year, Incheon actively started the second phase of the project. Originally, the authorities expected to complete the project before June 65438+February 2008, but in order to catch the Beijing Olympic Games, the construction period was shortened to June 2008.

On June 5438+065438+1October 15, 2006, Airbus A380 first arrived in Seoul as a stop in the first certification flight. The airport takes this opportunity to practice the practical operation of A380 and prepare for the future, especially the ground supply part. Incheon also specially arranged for A380 to stop at one of them to ensure that the airport boarding gate can fully meet the requirements of A380 in the future. The effect is satisfactory, and the runway, taxiway and each boarding gate can completely meet the A380 standard.

In order to provide further services, Incheon Airport signed a contract with Hanjin Enterprise (Korean Air Parent Company), a leading logistics company in Korea, on June 5438+/KOOC-0/0/0, 2008, to build a 9-storey medical institution, which is scheduled to be completed on June 20/KOOC-0/0. By then, Yongzong Medical Center will serve nearby residents and develop the potential of 30,000 people in the future.

Yongzong Island has superior natural conditions, with a greening rate of over 30%, no noise sources around and a beautiful and comfortable environment. In addition, its overall design, planning and engineering are based on environmental protection, so it is also called "green airport". According to the survey of Geneva International Airport Association (ACI) in 2005 and 20 10, Incheon International Airport won the first place in the "Best Airport in the World" for six consecutive years.

The airport service quality (ASQ) award ceremony hosted by the International Airport Council (ACI) of the world's best airports was held in Gold Coast, Australia. In the annual airport service evaluation for 268 airports around the world, Incheon Airport ranked first with a score of 4.978 (out of 5), and was rated as "the best airport in the world" for 1 1 year.

The airport bus leaves Incheon Airport for Seoul and Gimpo Airport every 10- 15 minutes from the first bus in the morning to the last bus in the evening. Because the MRT between Incheon Airport and Seoul has not been opened, it is economical and convenient to take a bus. Airport limousine 12000- 13000 won and seat bus 7500-8000 won arriving in Seoul. Bus tickets can be bought at the bus station, or at the car information desk next to the exit of 1 floor 2, 4, 8 and 13.

Different destinations have different waiting places, so you'd better consult first.
