The green leaves in Wang Zhengxiang are also red flowers.
Besides family education, folk literature also has a profound influence on him. The rural style in central Hunan is simple, and the folk literature is full of flavor. Farmers play folk songs when they work, sing praises to spring when they dance dragons and lions during the Spring Festival, praise new houses when they get married, and sing funeral songs when they hold funerals. Adults often teach children nursery rhymes, riddle songs and tell folk stories. Flower drums and puppet shows are often performed in the village. "I remember one night there was a flower drum show, and I didn't go to bed until dawn." Wang Zhengxiang recalled excitedly. The colorful folk literature, though oral, cultivated Wang Zhengxiang's interest in literature, just like the origin of family studies.
From 1945 to 1947, Wang Zhengxiang attended junior high school in Xiangxiang Middle School. "The teacher told some life stories of modern writers in combination with the text, which I like best." The school has a library and a reading room. He often goes there to read publications such as Enlightened Youth and Middle School Students, and also borrows Chinese and foreign literary masterpieces such as Travel Notes of Lao Can, Divine Comedy and Robinson Crusoe. All these further cultivated his interest in literature.
/kloc-in the autumn of 0/950, Hunan Youth Daily launched an essay, and Wang Zhengxiang wrote an article "Liberate Me in One Year", which was quickly published and won the prize. Soon, he published a literary review in the democratic daily about.
"It is a trivial matter to publish two short articles, but as a teenage middle school student, I am greatly encouraged."
It can also be said that this is the starting point of his career as a writer. 1950 After graduating from Hunan No.1 Normal School, Wang Zhengxiang volunteered to teach in difficult villages. Four years in primary school and six years in middle school. Ten years passed quickly. Later, he was transferred to Xiangtan County Revolutionary History Information Office, Xiangtan County Cultural Center and Hunan Provincial Civil Affairs Department. Finally, 1964 was transferred to the literary editor of Hunan People's Publishing House, and 1992 retired. Ye's career has lasted for 28 years. (1985, People's Society was divided into two due to institutional adjustment and placed under Hunan Literature and Art Publishing House)
Few people in Hunan literary and art circles don't know this "master Xiang". Someone said, "Don't look at Lao Wang's myopia, he sees far in his heart." In fact, his myopia is serious enough. If someone asks for him, he often uses his ears and feelings to tell who it is. Jokes are inevitable in daily life. "Lao Wang is asleep." It was not until Wang Zheng Xiangjiang looked up at him that he was surprised-he knew he was reading the manuscript. However, in the editorial work, Wang Zhengxiang seems far away. 1978, a middle-aged writer in the province sent some short story clippings for Lao Wang to collect. After reviewing the manuscripts, Wang Zhengxiang found that several of them could not stand the test of time, so he insisted on taking them out. And patiently persuaded the author: "The work must stand the test of history, otherwise the book will become a pile of waste paper. I'd better wait until you have a new work and add some more before publishing it. " The writer was persuaded by him, and later he wrote several new works one after another, and Lao Wang also sent him books. The works that Lao Wang pulled out were also proved by history to be untenable. The writer later said with emotion: "Lao Wang really has a vision!"
I also heard the writer Lu Zhiluo tell a short story between him and Lao Wang. It was the spring of 1974, 33 years before the end of the Cultural Revolution. Lu Zhiluo sent the novel Road, which reflected the railway construction in Hunan, Guizhou and Liu Zhi, to Hunan People's Publishing House at that time, with Wang Zhengxiang as the editor.
After repeated collective audits, the publication was finalized, but it needs to be revised. The novel only writes about the struggle with nature, not class struggle, and adds the line of class struggle. How to add it? The requirement is also very clear: write about the destruction of road construction by class enemies. In the whole process of road construction, although there are many accidents, they are all caused by natural changes or human negligence, and there are no examples of class enemies destroying them. Although fiction is the characteristic of novels, fiction should be based on real life and cannot be made out of nothing. After Lu Zhiluo truthfully reflected his own difficulties, the publishing house decided to edit Wang Zhengxiang to accompany him along the whole railway site to investigate and understand "the case of class enemies destroying railway construction". The two of them walked along the railway site for more than half a month, ran hundreds of miles and held numerous symposiums, but they did not collect any cases of class enemies destroying railway construction. After returning to the publishing house, Lao Wang expressed to the agency very sincerely and firmly: resolutely support Lu Zhiluo not to make such changes. It was not easy for him to have such boldness of vision in the political atmosphere at that time.
After the novel was published in the autumn of 1975, it quickly distributed100000 copies. There was no charge for publishing books at that time. The leader of the publishing house knows that Lu Zhiluo's life is difficult. Seeing his hard work in writing and revising the manuscript, he feels very sorry, and he is ready to give him 350 yuan's living expenses as much as possible. Three hundred and fifty dollars was not a small figure at that time, but basically a person's salary for one year.
In order to find a reason for the subsidy, Wang Zhengxiang was sent to the cultural center where Lu Zhiluo worked in Wugang County to investigate his living conditions. After Lao Wang arrived in Wugang, he saw him many times, but he kept his mouth shut. When the curator was not at home, he found a deputy curator with many factions and strong jealousy. After listening, the deputy curator said, "He, he has an excellent life and receives subsidies?" After hearing this, Lao Wang said the same thing when he returned to the club, so the subsidy was cancelled. When other comrades in the club learned about this, they all complained that he was too honest and said, "You and Lu Zhiluo are good friends. If you keep in touch with him, it won't be like this! " Lao Wang said: "It is precisely because we are good friends that we should be so clear about public and private.
Although Wang Zhengxiang is a bit pedantic, he is a man who is cold outside and hot inside. Especially for young authors, he is willing to be a bole and is good at it. 1972, he went to Lianyuan iron and steel plant to solicit contributions and met Tan Tan, a coal miner at that time. He took the initiative to look for Tan Tan to see his works, and Tan Tan gave him a newspaper clipping of his works. At that time, the lights in the executive office were hung high and the light was very weak. Lao Wang moved the table and stool, put the stool on the table, and then sat on the stool to read. Lao Wang's height of 1.8 meters, plus his myopia of 1800 degrees, it is not easy to sit so high and read a young worker's manuscript! After several years, he still thinks about the author. From 65438 to 0979, he and several other comrades were responsible for editing a series of literary works of Zhao Hui, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the National Day. At that time, Tan Tan was still unknown, and even the selected novels compiled by the club were not selected into one of his works, but his works left a deep impression on Wang Zhengxiang. In this case, Wang Zhengxiang wants to arrange an exclusive collection in Zhao Hui's literary series! Under the control of Comrade Huang, director of the Literature Editorial Office, Tan Tan's first anthology "On Quarry" was published, but 5,000 copies were printed. Naturally, it is inevitable to hear a somewhat ironic sentence: "Lao Wang has only printed 5000 copies of this book." He laughed it off. Later, Tan Tan was deeply grateful for this matter: "Books are compiled by people. I can't forget my first book, nor can I forget the responsible editor of the first book. "
Wang Zhengxiang not only compiled this "first book"! In those few years alone, he compiled twelve "first books" by young and middle-aged authors in Hunan Province. Now most of these writers are influential writers. Besides Tan Sitong, Sun Jianzhong, Ang Lee and Li Bo, there are also, Peng Lunke, Luo Shixian, Gong, etc. Especially 1979, when he was editing Ang Lee's "Second Love" and Zhang Buzhen's "Chasing Flowers for Honey", it was the time when his eye disease worsened, and his eyes were sour, red and swollen, and he kept crying all day. But in order to publish this book as soon as possible, he didn't rest for a day, and the difficulty in the middle can be imagined.
Wang Zhengxiang's enthusiasm for cultivating the seeds of new literature has become a much-told story. In a serious and responsible attitude towards his work, he always answers every manuscript one by one. In his nearly 30 years as an editor, he has never been an exception! Lao Wang once said: "Young writers, like young seedlings, need the support of the elderly. If others have worked hard to write a manuscript, if they just return it, or just say that it has not reached the publishing level, isn't it a gray heart of young people? " Asked how Wang became a writer, he smiled blankly: "People say he is a writer, but I never thought about it myself. I have loved literature since I was a child, so I have written some poems and essays. Later, when it was published much more, it was called a' writer'. "
Duanmu Hongliang, an old writer, said, "Zhengxiang is a man of action, and he devoted his best years to the editor. He arranged and polished for others until it was published, and he was diligent and meticulous ... In contrast, he delayed his own creation. Even if it was postponed, he still wrote so many excellent works. "
Wang Zhengxiang published a collection of essays, The Wonders of Junshan Bamboo. A collection of novellas, How Hurriedly Gathering and Disappearing. Classical literary works "Introduction to Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and "Heroes Dominate the Three Kingdoms". The choice of interest in talented women's poems in Tang and Song Dynasties. Prose collection "Love Life" and poetry collection "Selected Poems of Bamboo House" are yet to be published.
Important works include novella Green Leaves, Chrysanthemum Rhyme, Xiangjiang Storm, novella Baozhu, prose Chewing, literary criticism, literary editing works, folk literature and so on.
Most of Wang Zhengxiang's works have a good evaluation.
Bjor, a famous writer, commented that "writing is like a man", which is a praise for the best in both character and writing. From Comrade Wang Zhengxiang, we can see the harmonious unity of literariness and character. Reading "Wonderland of Junshan Bamboo Sea" is like facing an old friend, having a heart-to-heart, feeling relaxed, kind and natural, and a warm current rises in my chest, resulting in a sense of happiness. The Wonder of Junshan Bamboo is like a trickle, clear and bright, and you can clear your heart with a spoonful. "
Duanmu Hongliang once said, "Why bother to get together or leave?". "The author never attracts people with artificial plots and mysterious arrangements, but also makes social life leave a trace of aftertaste in the minds of journalists with calm and convergent pen and ink."
Pan of Fudan University in Shanghai said that green leaves "show an inner beauty"
Wang Zhengxiang is most interested in ancient poems. Although he summed up his life with the words "plain" and "simple", if you read his poems, you will find that they are full of flavor and emotion. As Lu Zhiluo said, "I didn't expect Wang, who is nearly eighty years old and honest and dull, to be so broad-minded and so quick-thinking."
Since 1992 retired, he has written more than 1000 poems. There are more than 500 songs with great influence in China. Hong Kong Ta Kung Pao, China Poetry Journal and other newspapers have published dozens of his poems, including nearly 100 volumes of poems published at home and abroad, China Poetry Yearbook and China Contemporary Poetry Collection.
Although Wang has poor eyesight, he loves traveling. If he has a chance to go abroad, he will go. Because of this, tourism poems also occupy a considerable proportion in his works. After the return of Hong Kong and Macao, he also went to see them and wrote dozens of songs. I hope I can visit Taiwan Province Province in my lifetime. However, according to Old Master Q, although the city is prosperous, it still prefers green mountains and green waters and places of interest.
Wang Zhengxiang's works can generally be published. I am curious to know the secret, "Revise it repeatedly." The master went on to say, "I am an editor myself. If my work can't even pass my own pass, how can I submit it? " ? If you are not sure, don't write. After you finish writing, you should constantly revise it and be responsible for yourself. "His rigorous work attitude is really worth learning from the younger generation.
Although Wang Zhengxiang has a monthly retirement salary of several thousand yuan, his life is very simple. Apart from poetry, books and literature, I have almost no other hobbies and no requirements. It is those sets of clothes that have been changed all the year round. The cotton undershirt is either transparent or has a hole. I buy two steamed buns for breakfast every morning, and sometimes I don't know if I left them on the road. During the day, he stays indoors all day. He can't watch TV because of his eye disease. Radio is his only source of information. Writing poems and letters to old friends is also a leisurely life. When asked what his latest work was, he said it was a series of poems about the protection of historic sites. "It is sad to see the cultural heritage of the motherland destroyed."
Finally, I asked Old Master Q about the ideal.
"You have lived all your life. What is your ideal? Are there any unfinished wishes? "
Wang smiled and said, "I am a man without ambition. I just want to do my job well, and the state pays me, so I can't fool around. Literature is also a hobby. I don't want to be an official, nor can I be an official. "
This is our lovely Old Master Q Wang Zhengxiang.
