Which sea does Dalian belong to?

Dalian belongs to both Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea.

Dalian is located at the southern tip of Liaodong Peninsula, between 38 43 ′ ~ 4012 ′ north latitude and 0/20 58 ′ ~123 31′ east longitude. It faces the Yellow Sea in the east, the Bohai Sea in the west and the Shandong Peninsula across the sea in the south.

The geographical dividing line between the Bohai Sea and the Yellow Sea is the connecting line between Laotieshan in Lushun, Liaoning Province and Hengshan in Penglai, Shandong Province. Laotieshanjiao, located at the top of Liaodong Peninsula, extends between the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea, forming the natural dividing line between the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea.

At the end of Qing Dynasty, the south and north of Dalian belonged to Fengtianfu, Fengtian Jinzhou Hall and Fuzhou respectively, and the northeast was Xingfeng Daozhuang Hall. When Russia leased Dalian, Dalian now belonged to Lushun, Jinzhou and Chess Nest. Lushun, Jinzhou, Liangjiadian, Qiaoziwo, Island Administrative Region and Darini Special City.

During the Japanese occupation of Dalian, Dalian was subordinate to the service offices of Dalian and Lushun and the civil affairs offices of Lushun, Jinzhou, Pulandian and Qiziwo. In the early years of the Republic of China, Dalian belonged to Zhuanghe County, Fuxian County and Jinxian County (Japanese occupation) east of Fengtian.
