Guanyin cave, a mysterious and frightening place.

In my hometown, there is a place called Guanyin Cave. For me, this is a place full of unknowns and mysteries.

It is said that some brave people in the village have visited the cave, but when they ask questions carefully, they are secretive and can't say anything.

I am also a curious person. I want to go into the cave many times, but every time I go into the cave, I think of the legend of the old man in the village, and I have a gloomy feeling. My heart is full of fear, and the cave itself is blocked badly, making it difficult to get in and out. I went to the cave again and again and came back again and again.

When I was a child, Guanyin Cave was an activity place in our village. Every summer when the water rises during the Dragon Boat Festival, my hometown rises a lot. When water is poured into Guanyin Cave, many fish will swim back. Not far from Guanyin Cave, a piece of land has been flooded all the year round. People call it a flooded dam. Every year, the fish that come back from Guanyin Cave are either gathered in the flooded dam or scattered in the farmland.

One summer, when the river rose during the Dragon Boat Festival, Bo Er went to plow his fields. When he saw movement in the field, he whipped the cattle. He actually caught two fish, one 10 kilograms and the other four or five kilograms. Cousin also put the fishtail on the door as proof that his family caught a big fish.

When I was a child, every year during the Dragon Boat Festival, people in the village would run to the flooded dam. Many hands make light work, so Qi Xin made concerted efforts to muddy the water. When the fish can't stand choking, they will stick their heads out to breathe, and then people will wait quietly on the water with dustpans and backpacks. As soon as the fish looks up, it will go down with its backpack on its back. If they are lucky, they will catch fish. At that time, the flooded dam became a paradise for children and left us a happy childhood.

I remember one year, I was still studying in my hometown. At noon on a hot day, my parents didn't arrange me to do farm work because of the hot weather. Then I remembered the flooded dam, where no one had caught fish for a long time. I think if I do it now, I should get good results.

So, I came to the flooded dam with a dustpan and a small hoe. After some field investigation, I decided to build a dam at the exit of the flooded dam ditch, cut off the water on it, and decided to start construction. It took about an hour to finally build the dam. After about half an hour, the water in the ditch slowly flowed away. I stood on the ditch, and I could see the fish jumping around in the ditch. I rolled up my trouser legs, took a dustpan and began to catch fish. Sometimes a dustpan will fall off.

I don't know how long it took, but I basically caught the fish in the ditch. In the afternoon, the sky began to overcast and it was going to rain heavily. But the fish I caught was in a pond, so I didn't take any tools to hold the fish because I didn't have much hope.

At this time, the village party secretary of our village came. He saw the fish I caught. He gave me 5 yuan money and sold it to him. I think if I don't sell it to him, the fish will run away when the rain comes. After much consideration, I decided to sell it to him.

At that time, parents would occasionally give us some pocket money, but it was pitiful. At most, it is a few cents at a time, and at most it will not exceed one or two dollars. Therefore, through our own efforts, we can get the income of 5 yuan, which is already a great harvest.

Unfortunately, there is less and less rain in my hometown due to ecological damage. I don't know from which year, the flooded dam dried up, and no fish swam back from Guanyin Cave.

The mystery of Guanyin Cave comes from its legend, which is where I yearn for and fear it.

It is said that there used to be a Kannonji above the Guandong Cave, where two monks lived. They should be temple administrators, but they are not monks, because they are not as strict as monks, but only responsible for managing temples. According to local customs, there will be a temple fair every year. The local elderly have the habit of being vegetarian. One month before and after attending the temple fair every year, they will be vegetarian, and then go to the temple fair to eat vegetarian food. You have to pay for the temple fair. When the incense is flourishing, someone needs to manage it.

One day, there was no oil in the temple. A monk went to the street to buy fat pork. He drank some wine in the street and went back to the temple. Another monk cooked a big pot of oil and put it there. The monk who bought oil fell asleep because of the wine. Woke up the next day, a large pot of lard disappeared, and his other companion disappeared, leaving a lot of blood on the ground. He was very confused and scared. He thought, is it a thief? Or robbed by bandits.

Out of curiosity, he waited until evening to see what had happened. At night, he never dared to close his eyes again. At about midnight, a python emerged from the Guanyin cave, which scared him out of breath. After the python couldn't find anyone anywhere, it returned to the cave.

The next day, the monk ran away with something valuable. From then on, no one dared to take care of Kannonji. After a long time, Kannonji gradually became cold and cheerless.

After liberation, people had to build an irrigation canal and pass through the rocks above Guanyin Cave. People cut a canal in the rock, and the remaining stones rolled to the bottom of the rock and buried Kannonji. At the same time, a cave was divided into two holes, and the fish we ate as children swam back from the two holes when the water level rose.

Legend has it that the Golden Bodhisattva is buried in the temple. I went back to my hometown once when I went out to study. When I went to Guanyin cave, I found someone digging a stolen hole next to me. It is said that I went in and stole the Golden Bodhisattva. As for whether I stole it, no one knows.

There is also a legend about Guanyin Cave Dragon. It is said that before liberation, it rained cats and dogs one day and the whole village was flooded. Just as the flood flooded all the rice fields, a dragon ran out of Guanyin Cave.

It is said that when the older generation saw the dragon coming out, all the water rushed to protect it. When the dragon swam to the bridge, it happened to meet the soldiers guarding the bridge. The soldiers shot at the dragon, blinding it in one eye. Finally, under the attack of soldiers, the dragon had to return to Guanyin Cave.

In my hometown, whenever the weather changes, the water flowing out of Guanyin Cave becomes turbid. The locals said that it was caused by the dragon turning over inside.

Now Guanyin Cave is divided into left cave and right cave, and the entrance is overgrown with weeds. Even when it is very hot in summer, there will be a cool breeze blowing from the entrance. There are bold people in the village. It is said that they have been inside, and it is extremely spacious. It feels like the whole mountain is empty.

According to people's opinion, there should be an underground river from which the fish swam back.

When I was a child, I had a dream that when I grew up, I could develop underground rivers, exploit the resources inside and develop them into tourist attractions. I also have a dream, that is, to explore the cave, because everything I know about Guanyin Cave is either legend or hearsay.

With the growth of age, this dream gradually faded. Because the unknown is full of fear, not to mention the local legend about dragons. Even without a dragon, a python is completely possible. Because there are so many snakes around Guanyin Cave in my hometown, we didn't dare to go there to mow the grass when we were young.

Since I don't know, let it leave beautiful thoughts in my heart. Maybe one day I can really walk into the cave and see the real Guanyin cave, which is not necessarily so beautiful.
