Heze City is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Shandong Province.

Heze City is located in the southwest of Shandong Province, bordering Jiangsu Province, Henan Province and Anhui Province, bordering Jining City in the east, Xuzhou City in Jiangsu Province and Suzhou City in Anhui Province in the southeast, Shangqiu City in Henan Province in the south, Kaifeng City and Xinxiang City in Henan Province in the west and Puyang City in Henan Province in the north. It is located between 34 39' and 35 52' north latitude, east longitude114 45'-1/6 25', north-south length157km, and east-west width/kloc. Area 12239 km2.

Heze used to be a natural ancient river, where rivers meet and flow out, connecting ancient water and Surabaya. It was renamed Longchi in the Tang Dynasty and Xiayue Lake in the Qing Dynasty. In the 13th year of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty (1735), it was promoted to the government and became Guo Wei County. Because there is "Heshan" in the south and "Razer" in the north, it is named Heze.

Geomorphological and climatic characteristics

Heze city is located in the lower reaches of the Yellow River. Except Juye County, which has 10 square kilometers of low hills, the rest are alluvial plains of the Yellow River, with flat terrain and deep soil layers, which are part of the new subsidence basin in North China Plain. It gradually decreases from southwest to northeast, with an altitude of 68-37 meters and an average slope of 1/4700.

Micro-landforms include floodplain highland, gentle slope land, crevasse fan-shaped land, ridge highland, dish-shaped depression, sandy channel land and back river channel depression, among which gentle slope land is the largest.

Heze city is located in the middle latitude, on the north-south narrow road between Taihang Mountain and Taiyi Mountain, and has a temperate monsoon continental climate. The main features are hot in summer and cold in winter, with four distinct seasons.

There is little rain in spring, the north-south wind alternates frequently, and the temperature rises rapidly; Summer is hot and humid, with frequent southeast wind blowing and concentrated rainfall; In autumn, the rainfall gradually decreases, the wind direction turns from south to north, and the temperature drops rapidly; In winter, rain and snow are scarce, the north wind blows more, and the climate is dry and cold. It is sunny all year round, rich in heat, rainy and hot in the same season, suitable for the growth of many crops. However, the distribution of precipitation is extremely uneven, and it is often affected by the air mass in the northern continent, resulting in disastrous weather once in many years.
