Yunnan Qiaojia brand chestnut throat bee tiger

It takes more than three hours' drive from Huili, Liangshan Prefecture, and passes through Huidong and Ningnan to Qiaojia, Yunnan.

Qiaojia County is one of the most complicated counties in Yunnan Province. Qiaojia terrain is mainly mountainous. Jinsha River circulates in the northwest of the county, and Niulan River lingers in the northeast of the county. The terrain is high in the southeast and low in the northwest. It belongs to plateau mountain structure, and the surface is cut deeply by rivers. The mountains are high and the valleys are deep, and the altitude difference is great. Qiaojia County, with the lowest elevation of 517m, is located at the intersection of Jinsha River and Niulan River. The highest altitude is 404 1 m, which is located at the top of Yaoshan Mountain.

In recent years, in Qiaojia county, Mongolia, Jintang, Baihetan and other towns and villages, the chestnut-throated bee tiger has been found to inhabit and breed, and its number has increased year by year.

Every summer, a large number of chestnut-throated bees and tigers come to the sand wall of Qiaojia County valley as scheduled to nest and settle down.

I heard the news in the birding group. Came to Qiaojia in mid-June, 15. At that time, the car showed that the temperature outside was as high as 40 degrees. I was so excited to see so many beautiful chestnut-throated bees and tigers that I forgot the fatigue of the journey, the hot weather and mosquito bites. Immediately set up the tripod, install the camera and start shooting.

In recent years, more than 30,000 chestnut-throated bees have spent the summer in Qiaojia County. Chestnut-throated bee tiger belongs to the family Aphididae, with gorgeous feathers. His throat is chestnut red with black eyelets, his wings and back are green, and his tail is blue. When flying, the feathers under the wings are orange, and the whole body shines with metallic luster under the sunlight. Known as "one of the most beautiful birds in China".

Mainly lives in Southeast Asia, and is distributed in Fujian, Guangdong, Yunnan, Hainan and other places in China. It has been included in the IUCN 20 13 Red List of Endangered Species and the list of terrestrial wild animals that are beneficial to national protection or have important economic and scientific research value.

The shooting location I went to was Jintang, the nearest to Qiaojia County. I'm late. Every May, the millet-throated bee tiger will come here and start building nests and incubating birds.

It's already mid-June, and the birds are all grown up. Seeing the dense caves on the sandstone, birds poked their heads out of the caves and looked around, waiting for their parents to send back food. Hard-working parents send butterflies and dragonflies to the young birds in caves again and again, and feed them to grow up day by day. Obviously, the gorgeous feathers of adult birds have been eclipsed.

An adult bee tiger caught a dragonfly, looked around and waited on the branch for a long time, then a bird about its size flew in. The bird with the dragonfly quickly fed the dragonfly into its mouth, made sure it ate it, and then left to hunt. So they are mother and son. Although the little bee tiger is about the same age as its mother, it still doesn't have the ability to catch insects. I will leave here when I grow up in July and August.
