Geographical environment of Caomiao village

Caomiao Village is located in the south of Songxian County, Luoyang City, 7 kilometers southwest of Zhifang Township. The existing highway along the river directly leads to Maogou and Qiupan villages in the ditch for more than ten miles. Caomiao Village, located in the middle of Wudaogou, is a fish belly basin. The total area of the village is 3.9 square kilometers, with 14 villagers' groups and 36 natural villages, which are distributed in two ditches and one slope. Two ditches are Shimen ditch and Wudaogou, and one slope is Guapo. The 640-mu dry land of sandy sloping land in the village is embedded in the ravines on both sides of the gully, and the dry gutter stream is cut off, and the rainy season floods roll into the Yi River.

The main rivers in the village are Shimengou River (3.5 kilometers long) and Wudaogou River (about 5 kilometers through the village), which merge into one at the foot of Fenghuangling in Caomiao Village and flow down to Yihe River for more than ten miles.

Before liberation, the Wudaogou river was constantly flowing, so people could travel by boat. The landlords in the ditch sold grain and rowed it directly to Luoyang. Rumor of the older generation: Wu Zetian repaired Luoyang Palace in the Tang Dynasty and came to Wudaogou to choose wood. In ancient times, there was an official road leading to Mu Zhi Street. Because there was an official silver cave in Maogou to produce silver, there was an ancient road site. In 58 years of steelmaking, villagers went up the mountain to cut firewood. There was a big tree, and five people hugged each other.

I live in Zhangdaoshan, the highest mountain in the village, with waves of more than 800 meters, overlooking Songxian County. The weather is clear and I can see the whole picture of Luhun Reservoir. It is the highest mountain near Songxian County. The mountain stream is full of all kinds of herbs and fruits, and there are ditches on the top. It was built for a certain unit of Kuomintang 13 Army to fight against the Japanese, and 100 mu of pine forest formed a natural oxygen bar.

The Hanwan Formation, whose village bottom is less than 200 meters above sea level, is the Han clan land in Caomiao Village. With the destruction of surface vegetation and the elevation of floodplain, Hanwan is gradually moving up.
