Be the inheritor of the spirit of the Great Northern Wilderness in the new period.
1September, 963, we listened to the mobilization report of Wan Li, vice mayor of Beijing, and the frank introduction of the cadres of the State-owned 852 Farm in Heilongjiang Province in Zhongshan Park Concert Hall. A group of enthusiastic young people responded to the call of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman Mao, and voluntarily signed up for the countryside to support border defense construction. After the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival, on 10/2, more than 300 educated youth in Beijing (known as educated youth after the Cultural Revolution) set foot on the train going north and headed for the rich and magical black land-the Great Northern Wilderness. Since then, educated youth from major cities have come to the farm every year. We melted our youth into the mountains and rivers of the Great Northern Wilderness, and fought with hard work and sweat on the black land with demobilized officers and men. ...
Forty years have passed, although we have all returned to major cities one after another, and some people have retired due to illness or old age, we have not forgotten the deep affection we have forged with the Great Northern Wilderness.
Before 1950s, a large area of land in Heilongjiang Province was a virgin land with sparsely populated and overgrown vegetation, collectively known as the "Great Northern Wilderness". At the end of 1950s,100000 demobilized officers and men entered this barren Yuan Ye, reclaimed land, established state-owned farms and forest farms, and awakened this sleeping fertile soil with their blood and sweat. Later, groups of immigrants and more than 300,000 educated youths from big cities joined the ranks of reclamation. By the early 1980s, the Great Northern Wilderness warehouse and the national grain and oil base had been built.
On the farm, I am an educated youth in Beijing. In Beijing, I proudly call myself a "Northern Wilderness Man".
I love the endless Yuan Ye and towering mountains in the Great Northern Wilderness, the endless wheat waves, the mountains of soybeans and corn, and the people of the Great Northern Wilderness.
Hard-working, brave, strong and simple people from the Great Northern Wilderness come from all over the country. They are demobilized officers and men of the People's Liberation Army who have made outstanding contributions in the War of Liberation and the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. They are outstanding talents who support border defense construction in various places, and they are also hard immigrants and educated youths in major cities. They have gone through all kinds of hardships, crawling on the ice, sleeping in the snow, eating in the rain, cultivating ten thousand mu of fertile land in deserted meadows, swamps and barren slopes full of thorns, and in the mountains where wolves, tigers, leopards, bears and wild boars are rampant. ...
Every grass and tree in the Great Northern Wilderness has also soaked the painstaking efforts and sweat of hundreds of thousands of educated youth in cities.
In the severe winter of MINUS 30 degrees, more than two feet of snow left us the footprints of grabbing corn;
In the snow-capped mountains and forests, there are footprints of us chopping wood against the wind and snow;
In the snowy valley, we are sweating with shovels and pickaxes, pushing carts and snow, digging rivers and building reservoirs;
Remember; That year, a night of downpour turned the production team's house into a boat in the Wang Yang. In order to save the newly harvested wheat, we also took off the mosquito net like old workers, and knee-deep mud blocked the wheat grains in the ditch of the yard.
Remember; In order to protect the big forest in Wanda Mountain area, my old comrades and I climbed mountains and mountains together. For days and nights, we beat the mountain fire, our feet were soaked, and our hands were stained with blood by the branches used for lighting.
Remember; In order to eat all kinds of vegetables in the cold north, we set up a scientific research team. After years of efforts, we finally enjoyed the fragrance of Beijing melons and fruits in the Great Northern Wilderness.
Remember; In order to resist the harm of disaster weather to crops, we worked with meteorologists day and night to study and make unearthed rockets, successfully disperse hail and carry out artificial rainfall;
Remember; In order to enliven our spare time, we built a basketball court with old comrades and organized a literary propaganda team.
Remember; We once set up a blackboard in the dormitory, set up the first primary school in the production team, and opened a compound teaching for more than a dozen students of different grades;
……
I love my second hometown and beautiful and rich black land. For more than 30 years, there have been not only hard struggles in the past, but also happy and sweet poems. How many unforgettable memories have entered the hearts of every educated youth.
Remember; The first Spring Festival when I first arrived at the farm was also the coldest day in the Great Northern Wilderness. We Beijing educated youths who have never been far away from our parents and relatives gathered in the dormitory silently, without singing or laughing. We are tired of playing poker and can't divert our attention any more. The thoughts of hometown and relatives come to everyone's mind, and our eyes are getting moist. At this time, the younger students began to sob. The old director came to visit us and pay a New Year call to us. His amiable face soothes our infinite thoughts, and his hearty and moving laughter breaks the silence in the thatched cottage and blocks the tears and crying that are about to gush out. Speaking of candy in the pocket, it's not much, but it also makes us feel flattered. Laochang is a legend in our minds. He not only participated in the 25,000-mile Long March, but also was a superhero in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. ...
Remember; When we first arrived at the production company, our sleepless childlike innocence made us interested in hundreds of sparrows in the yard. On a snowy night, we educated youth took flashlights and went to the grain depot in the yard to catch those fat sparrows in the grass covered with grain. Wrap it in mud and wool first, and then barbecue it in the stove pit. When the mud balls are burnt, break them, ha! The sparrow's hair was glued off by the air-dried mud, and the fresh and tender sparrow meat with fishy smell appeared in front of our eyes. Garlic and pepper are used as seasonings and dipped in soy sauce, which tastes really delicious. ...
Remember; In summer, after the rainstorm, we catch fish with our bare hands and shrimp with a sieve in the drainage ditch along the road with our old comrades. The pleasure of fishing by the river during holidays and the pleasure of fishing in the river in winter. ...
Remember; When the company was resting in winter, our educated youth braved the wind and snow under the woodpile around the village to see the traces of pheasants. Once we were really told to catch a Dagong pheasant under the woodpile. ...
Remember; That year, I lost my way when I went into the mountains to pick fungus, but I happened to meet an old hunter who fought bayonet with Japanese devils. A lot of contacts have made us good friends who have never forgotten. I not only heard many anecdotes about animals and hunting stories, but also heard many touching stories about War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation. ...
Although I have been away for many years, the past has become a much-told story when we met, and it is also a topic that dazzles the world. I love the Great Northern Wilderness, and I still deeply cherish the black land that raised me.
