Forty years have passed, although we have all returned to major cities one after another, and some people have retired due to illness or old age, we have not forgotten the deep affection we have forged with the Great Northern Wilderness.

Before 1950s, a large area of land in Heilongjiang Province was a virgin land with sparsely populated and overgrown vegetation, collectively known as the "Great Northern Wilderness". At the end of 1950s,100000 demobilized officers and men entered this barren Yuan Ye, reclaimed land, established state-owned farms and forest farms, and awakened this sleeping fertile soil with their blood and sweat. Later, groups of immigrants and more than 300,000 educated youths from big cities joined the ranks of reclamation. By the early 1980s, the Great Northern Wilderness warehouse and the national grain and oil base had been built.

On the farm, I am an educated youth in Beijing. In Beijing, I proudly call myself a "Northern Wilderness Man".

I love the endless Yuan Ye and towering mountains in the Great Northern Wilderness, the endless wheat waves, the mountains of soybeans and corn, and the people of the Great Northern Wilderness.

Hard-working, brave, strong and simple people from the Great Northern Wilderness come from all over the country. They are demobilized officers and men of the People's Liberation Army who have made outstanding contributions in the War of Liberation and the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. They are outstanding talents who support border defense construction in various places, and they are also hard immigrants and educated youths in major cities. They have gone through all kinds of hardships, crawling on the ice, sleeping in the snow, eating in the rain, cultivating ten thousand mu of fertile land in deserted meadows, swamps and barren slopes full of thorns, and in the mountains where wolves, tigers, leopards, bears and wild boars are rampant. ...

Every grass and tree in the Great Northern Wilderness has also soaked the painstaking efforts and sweat of hundreds of thousands of educated youth in cities.

In the severe winter of MINUS 30 degrees, more than two feet of snow left us the footprints of grabbing corn;

In the snowy valley, we are sweating with shovels and pickaxes, pushing carts and snow, digging rivers and building reservoirs;

Remember; That year, a night of downpour turned the production team's house into a boat in the Wang Yang. In order to save the newly harvested wheat, we also took off the mosquito net like old workers, and knee-deep mud blocked the wheat grains in the ditch of the yard.

Remember; In order to protect the big forest in Wanda Mountain area, my old comrades and I climbed mountains and mountains together. For days and nights, we beat the mountain fire, our feet were soaked, and our hands were stained with blood by the branches used for lighting.

Speaking of candy in the pocket, it's not much, but it also makes us feel flattered. Laochang is a legend in our minds. He not only participated in the 25,000-mile Long March, but also was a superhero in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. ...

Remember; When we first arrived at the production company, our sleepless childlike innocence made us interested in hundreds of sparrows in the yard. On a snowy night, we educated youth took flashlights and went to the grain depot in the yard to catch those fat sparrows in the grass covered with grain.
