After experiencing the HarmonyOS operating system for a week, these are my six favorite new features.

It's been a week since HarmonyOS OS was officially released. After reading the conference, the author chose the upgrade for the first time. Although it took some time due to network congestion, the update was successful. I should be one of the former 1000 users in China who have experienced the official version of HarmonyOS OS 2.0 on their mobile phones. Combined with Huawei Mate 40 Pro, the author shared his favorite six new functions with friends during the experience.

1. The system interface is more refined.

After updating the HarmonyOS OS, many friends say that the mobile phone has become smoother than before, which is not particularly obvious in my opinion, because the fluency is already high when running the EMUI system. Maybe the system has just been upgraded and the software needs background optimization. The fluency is not very high, but with the completion of optimization, the system becomes as smooth as before.

When the phone is automatically restarted after optimization, the phrase "Powered by Android" disappears and is replaced by the boot animation of HarmonyOS OS. After entering the main interface of the mobile phone, the first feeling is more exquisite. All the software and files previously installed on the mobile phone are there, including WeChat chat records and game archives.

In terms of details, the adjustment of the system setting interface is clearer, unlike the simple stacking of EMUI systems, and the functional division is obvious.

Not only that, the transition animation when the APP exits (the bottom of the screen slides up in the APP) is very smooth, and you can see the process that the software content gradually becomes an APP icon. Slide up into the background, hold down one of the apps and slide left and right, and you can see the dynamic effect, which is no longer a simple slide like the EMUI system. In addition, when the financial application enters the background, the system will obfuscate the software content to further enhance the security.

2. Large folders are both beautiful and practical.

HarmonyOS OS has added a big folder function, which can display up to 9 icons at the same time. Compared with the small folder of the EMUI system, the APP can be started without clicking, which simplifies the original two-step operation into one step, which is both beautiful and practical. Of course, small folders are still reserved and can be freely combined and matched according to actual needs. It is worth noting that when you put two APP icons in a folder, the system will automatically identify and recommend the same type of APP to be put in the same folder. Although it is a small function, it is very practical.

3. The service card is easy to operate

We usually start the application by clicking. HarmonyOS OS has added the upward sliding mode in the APP, and a small horizontal line will support this function below the APP icon. Take the camera APP as an example. If we need to take a selfie, we first need to enter the camera APP, then find the button to switch the front lens, and finally click OK. In the HarmonyOS OS, you only need to slide the camera APP upward, and there will be four options: taking photos, recording, portrait and taking selfies. Click the corresponding option to quickly enter the corresponding function, and bring together the effective information to improve the startup efficiency.

Not only that, but also the upward sliding function card can be fixed on the desktop of the mobile phone, and long press can change different styles, which is both beautiful and practical.

4. Intelligent functions

The smart phone I once understood is a mobile phone that can download and install apps while running multiple apps in the background. Nowadays, smart phones are endowed with more intelligent functions. When the author buys a ticket in the ticketing APP, the negative screen of the mobile phone will automatically display the flight information and the weather conditions of the destination, and recommend the appropriate travel mode and departure time according to the positioning. What surprises me most is that it will remind me to set the alarm clock one day in advance, and even the time of the alarm clock is planned according to the itinerary.

5. Audio Broadcasting Control Center

For copyright reasons, I believe that many small partners have installed more than one music APP on their mobile phones, but it is inevitable that switching back and forth between multiple apps will be more troublesome. HarmonyOS OS integrates all music playing APPs in one control center, so you don't even need to open the app when listening to songs, just slide into the control center and select the corresponding app with one click to play. Not only that, but also the playback equipment can be quickly switched in the control center, which is very convenient.

6. HyperTerminal

HyperTerminal is also a highlight of HarmonyOS's operating system. Mobile phones can be connected with tablets, laptops and even smart screens in a very simple way. The mobile phone is no longer just an independent device. Through the super terminal function, the tablet computer can be used as the expansion screen of the notebook computer, and the TV can be used to make mobile phones. With HarmonyOS OS, you can break through the barrier between hardware and hardware.

Summary: Is the operating system of HarmonyOS Android? From the operation mode, it seems that there is not much difference between HarmonyOS OS and Android, and it is still a point, press and slide operation mode. From the system interface, the OS of HarmonyOS system is so familiar that the user learning cost of the upgraded EMUI system is almost zero. From the upgrade mode, only a simple OTA is needed to complete the cross-system upgrade, and the original application and cache can be retained after the upgrade.

After a week's use, Huawei Mate 40 Pro gives me the most intuitive feeling that this phone is not smart for the sake of intelligence. When you need to scan the code to pay, as long as you aim the mobile phone screen at the POS machine, the payment code will be automatically retrieved; When you need to look at the time, as long as you look at the phone, the screen will automatically light up; When the screen is about to go out, look at the screen again and it will always be on. These functions can be realized in EMUI system, and are still supported in HarmonyOS operating system.

Friends who want to get a different experience from Android by upgrading HarmonyOS OS may be disappointed. Through a week's experience, the HarmonyOS OS gives the author little difference from the EMUI system, but this is where Huawei is smart. Imagine that if the learning cost of HarmonyOS OS is too high, many old users will be discouraged. According to statistics, within a few days after the release of Huawei HarmonyOS OS, the number of upgraded users has exceeded10 million. Although we don't know whether we can complete the life-and-death line of 16% within one year, as far as the current situation is concerned, the installed capacity of OS in HarmonyOS system is growing very strongly.

It is true that the software ecology of HarmonyOS OS is far less than that of iOS and Android, and there are still many deficiencies in the functions of only a few HarmonyOS system apps. As far as the current situation is concerned, HarmonyOS OS compatible with Android applications is the safest choice. However, as a latecomer, HarmonyOS OS has the ability of cross-device collaboration that other operating systems do not have.
