Huaibei is located in the north of Anhui Province.

Huaibei, alias Canal City and Xiangcheng, is located in the north of Anhui Province, at the junction of the four provinces of Sulu, Henan and Anhui. It is connected to Xiaoxian in the north, Bozhou in the south, Suzhou in the east and Shangqiu in Henan in the west. Huaibei is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Anhui Province, with a total area of 274 1 km2, and governs 3 districts 1 county. By the end of 20021,the permanent population of Huaibei was 1.974 million, and the urbanization rate was 64.78%.

Attractions include Xiangshan Park, Longji Mountain, Nanhu Wetland Park, Huajiahu, Shiban Street, Linhuan Ancient Town, Sui and Tang Canal Ancient Town, etc. Memorial sites include the former site of the General Front Committee of Huaihai Campaign and the former site of Shuangduiji Battlefield.
